    So recently I sold a gentleman a transmission rebuild kit that was from Finland and it struck me odd at first on why he was asking for parts because it was not a Wheel Horse tractor so after reading through his email and looking through the manual that he sent me he wanted parts for a MinkOMatic which is a livestock feeding machine/tractor overseas and if you read through the PDF file that I attached and go to the last couple pages you will find a parts list and exploded view of a wheel horse eight speed transmission you will notice on the parts list that the part numbers are mostly all wheel horse numbers, the transmission does have a few variations on the input shaft and on the right axle. And you will also notice the tractor has a Kohler engine in it . So I communicated back-and-forth through email with the gentleman and he told me the company is still in business today and actually has two or three brand new wheel horse transmissions in their warehouse which are very expensive, in US dollars there around $1200 each. Here are some pictures of his tractor it does have the feed hopper removed he says that he’s turning it into a tractor now. So it got me thinking what other brands used Wheel Horse parts in them???? 107SL - 109SL[62].pdf

    This is my primary snow mover! It is Kelli’s “Rojo” and it is powered by the Diesel motor. As mentioned a couple times above, these too are older pics but I’m still using the same machine... The power steering and foot control hydro are absolutely awesome. The only thing I really need to get my hands on someday is a heated cab! Turn on my favorite music, adjust the heat, leave my phone in the shop, and enjoy an hour or better in the saddle! But for now, get covered in snow dust and dry out by the pellet stove when done!

    My 1257.... got inside wheel weights and weights behind the rear hubcaps. Just yesterday broke the shifter pivot screw so shifter is loose. Other than that she runs great and plows like a champ.

    Could Norcar be related to Norlett? Norlett was made by Wheel Horse in Belgium. Just a thought.

    C195 with the big 54" blade I split a beast and if I run out of room I can move the snow with the 520-8 with the Ark 550 loader. Both are fun

    This picture was taken a while ago. I now have a Sweepster C-48 rotary broom on the C-141 and put the blade on my C-160 auto. Mid-mount grader blade on the GT-1800 for scraping ice.

    Seems there are plenty of other chores for a work horse in the snow even without blades and blowers. Sure have hauled and burnt the wood the last 10 days! Gary

    In the 60's, as now, it's very expensive to have custom molds and dies made to manufacture a special part, so the tractor manufacturers had only have a few suppliers to choose from and tended to purchase standard parts to save $$. For example, there were only 6 companies manufacturing steering wheels, so the inserts tended to be standard, just different decals applies for each brand; ---- and golf-carts, boats, etc also used these same steering wheels. Knobs were very standard as were the threads they were used on. Transmissions were in the same situation, as were engines. Tractor brands/models tended to have unique hoods, dashes and fenders; sometimes they made their own if they were large enough, but most of the time, they subcontracted out for a supplier to make them. In the mid-60's, John Deere made mower decks for Wheel Horse (to WH's exact specifications), probably because the JD lines were not busy and WH was max'ed out on capacity. Today, MTD (Modern Tool & Die) makes many of the American tractor brands, on any of the many lines they have, and to the customers specifications for quality. Glen

    Guess I should have elaborated a bit more, C/20 on the fender could just mean a replacement fender on a 6 lug 1/2 ton C/10, I'm a Bowtie guy through and through, and have a couple buddies that have put a 14 bolt full floater in the rear of their short bed K/10s along the heavy duty Dana 44 or 60 fronts and 8 lugs on all 4 corners, anyways these set on the 11 acres I live on, FIL's '79 green K/30 350 4spd 4x4 with 68k original miles but new paint and interior, the next one wife's cousin's '77 K/20 with 396 BB TH400 (aka street legal pulling truck), Jeff.

    @ACman, I leased my '14 and just last week financed it outright with extended warranties ,only 36k on it now and being Topaz Blue Metallic only year color it's a keeper, in hindsight I probably should have kept the pewter 2000 5pd also as it was paid for oh well, I like the stance of your boy's '15 leveling kit? or actual lift? I plan on the Rancho Quick Lift and next size up tire then maybe a tuner and catback dual exhaust and drive it as long as I can, Jeff.

    Been looking for a C-160 Auto with Hydro lift for some time and an acceptable one finally showed itself on CL. Good runner. Needs a replacement seat and a choke lever. Also a battery mount. Anyone point me to how these batteries are held in place? A bigger (younger) brother to my 876 I had a post on my 876 but I see the images are gone from the post, here is a picture, Love this tractor.

    Just picked up a plow, a short chute thrower and some weights back in the beginning of December. Thrower service and setup is still on the to do list, but the plow has been doing the job! Tractor is my 94 416-H. Inherited from my grandfather.. he bought it new.

    This is my 1988 Chevy and she's 30 years old this month! She's got the 5.7L and 4 speed manual with the creeper gear. I'm the original owner and this has been a great truck!

    It's like Aretha Franklin sang about.R-E-S-P-E-C-T.Any fuel not used properly is dangerous as hell.Not much around that's as bad as gasoline.Of course,with all the added ethanol now a days,gasoline hardly wants to ignite with a match.Just gotta be careful.Safety first.

    I plow with a 520-H with 23x10.50x12 rear ag tires and a 12" plow. it does a good job to get the job done but,,, In the plowing contest I've entered I usually get beaten by the guy's with a 6" plow on a little 656 or something like that. With that being said it is a blast to go out and plow with the 520. It's easy to get to the hydro lift on the column and the motion control lever at the same time, and operate the MCL eric j

    If it were me, I’d keep my eye out for a decent running K301. You could even place a wanted ad here on the forum to see if anyone can help you out. We hate to see someone’s beloved steed go down and we want to help get them back up and working if we can. Sometimes buying a donor tractor as @WH nut stated is the most cost effective way to go. I’ve bought tractors in the past that were in really rough shape, yet running decent, just to get the motor and any healthy parts left over. I’m not a fan of parting a tractor just to part it but every once in awhile—there is an application where it works best all around that way.

    '95 520H with plow/blade ,Anniversary 520H cab and deuce, and the eMax with FEL and rear blade this year, last year had another '95 520H with single stage and a 520xi with single stage with the first 2, I keep telling myself that's why it hasn't snowed much around here lately it's scared of the lil red 's, Jeff.

    My present crew consists of the first I bought, 1055 with 42" blade, GT-14 with a Johnson front end loader and the 418-C with 42" blade. Our snow fall tends to be six to ten inches of wet and heavy so a snow blower wouldn't work well here.

    You guys are making me jealous with all your fancy trucks. If I could talk "she who must be obeyed " into getting rid of the El Camino it would belong to some one else. Of course the problem is what is its replacement. I don't care for the new model trucks , all look like 4 wheel drives and you need a ladder to get into them. The new mid size ( ?) pickups are nice but very pricey , even used trucks are pricey. Any replacement would have to be Chevy or GMC, it runs in the family. My father was a Buick man.

    Took me a while but I finally located the initial photos of my 3/4-ton 1995 Chevrolet C2500 Suburban. These were taken on the December 1998 day I brought it home. Th spots on the driveway are from something else. Even though it had a 350 and 3.73 rear, it was still like pushing a brick through the air with the mpg. The previous owner had put 80K miles on it, spotted it at a dealer about 100 miles from home, and bought it. At the time I was selling fire apparatus (which was a cut-throat business!!!) so it had to be red. I used to be out in all kinds of weather, including Northern Illinois blizzards, with a 2WD truck - but never got stuck. Barn doors are the only way to go on a Suburban! Wish I still had it. My second truck is my 3/4-ton 2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD, also 2WD. Again, photos when I brought it home. Notice Terry's Wheel Horse emblem on it before I even had MD plates. I bought this in 2010 with 29K on it. Today, seven years later it only has 56K! At this rate I should have about 82K on it when it is considered an antique. This truck gets worse mileage than the Suburban did. Maybe the 8.1 Liter engine and 4.10 rear has something to do with it.

    Even though I’ve owned some Ford’s and a Dodge I’ve always been a GM guy. When I was a kid my nose was always buried in a Chevy high-performance or super Chevy magazine . Here’s my son’s high school truck before somehow the frame got bent 98 K1500 . This is his 2015 Silverado Best picture I have of the 97 S10 beater truck . Here’s my cousins we call big ugly....a 88 K1500 that has a transplanted heart from his 94 with almost 400k on it . Currently doing snow removal duties and still running strong as ever. my daughter has a 2003 Silverado K1500 that’s been a really good truck. I wish I had some pics. @WVHillbilly520H I have a good buddy who’s sister graduated in 1987 and was giving a new mustang for graduation. His dad ask him what he wanted when he graduated (he was in 5th grade) . He answered that maroon short bed down at the Chevy dealer . Well his dad went down and bought that 87 K1500 Silverado short bed and he’s had it ever since. He’s managed to keep it through two divorces and I think he loves it more than his kids as it sits on blocks in the garage. It still has the plastic covering the interior, window sticker and 13 actual miles (could be a little higher now). It has racing fuel in the tank and gets started and run through the gears to keep everything lubed up . A true time capsule and maybe one of the finest examples of a square body truck out there. I’ll see if he can send me some pictures .

    hi men, after about 4 hours of blowing snow with my 312-8 equipped with a tall chute single stage blower and my C160 equipped with a 48 inch plow i finally had my snow clean up chores done..... or so i thought. my neighbor who is an older gent came over and wanted to borrow some tools. he bought a new carb for his craftsman blower months ago. he waits til we are having a noreaster to change it???...... REALLY! so since both tractors were warmed up off we went to clear his driveway. about one hour later we were done. he was VERY impressed with the capability of our wonderful little red tractors. it amazes me how most folks just do not see the value in these awesome machines. i'm sure glad i have them. stay warm everyone mike in mass.

    Here is my 1962 F-250 4x4 with a Young fire body and a Barton-American 500 GPM pump. I purchased it with 1500 original miles and sold it to a guy in New Jersey with around 1800 miles. It was in service on a small island so it never could go far. I owned it several years and finally sold it when I lost my inside storage for it. I couldn't bare to see it outside in the winter as it was stored inside its whole life. But I sold it to the right guy(also a volunteer firefighter) who appreciates it as much as I did.

    I would be very hesitant to put any money into that block, too much hidden damage will come back to haunt you. You should be able to find a running 8, 10 or 12 HP engine and have it rebuilt for less than the cost of parts for your present block.     Big Ugly - '74 D180 , 56" blade - The blade was completely rebuilt and reinforced, 1055 hardened steel cutting edge. Pics from last year - too cold this year the last time I plowed for pics, lol. Sarge
