Saved another one from the cold northern winter. It should spend the rest of it's life retired in Florida. I've been talking with Mike about this one for a year. Thought I was going to make the show this year, but I didn't. So I thought it wasn't going to happen again. Then about 2 weeks ago a fellow member, Bruce Scott, who lives about 2 hours from me said he was going to Buffalo and wouldn't mind picking it up for me Anyway, picked it up yesterday and took it out for a spin. I'm tickled red! One question, Mike, wheres the damn bell? -Chris

After I got done mowing with the C-120 thought I would get some Cool pics for AC Man, as he often requests. Now, he warned me way back in May in a post when I picked up the 875, " You get One, then another, and another....." He was so right !!! The 875 in May A 1054 in June Then the C-120 in July. I wonder what is coming home with me in August ????

I picked up a wheelhorse b 100 today from a fellow red Square member wildside the tractors absolutely everything that I've been looking for and could ask for I'll get to that in a minute. I feel it's more important to give wild side a proper thank you for helping me out not just with questions I had but explaining to me in detail everything about wheel horse tractors and helping me out in anyway that he could. I don't mention my mobility issues a lot if any at all although if You were to meet me in person you can tell that I have them but this isn't me pointing that out I mentioned it because I went to look at the tractor the first time and he took an hour about 20 minutes to give a complete stranger ideas on how I could tackle these issues and be able to use the tractor not to mention it was blistering hot out that day. Although it's been a quest of mine to find the tractor of awesomeness and yes the tractors pretty sweet but his kindness and generosity overshadow the tractor and the search for it more than words can describe and I just felt that I need to command him for that because it was important for me to share that with you all. Now to the tractor its the B 100 model this thing is a beast it's a 10 hp Kohler with the 36 inch deck I also wasn't expecting that amount of powert o come from a 10 hp engine I also got a snow blade I'm praying that it snows so much this winter lol. I was unaware that the mower decks on WH had three blades so that was interesting and cool this tractor is built like a rock sounds like a freaking helicopter because of the extra blade But cuts with precision . I'm going have to do the work on the seat due to mobility issues but I've got a few ideas in mind I hope the title is not too confusing just referring to an earlier post.

I thought the crowd would be bigger . Boxes of N.O.S. engine parts were cheep 10-20 average .They did not sell all the parts advertised, I think they sold the obsolete stuff and kept the newer stuff . most collectors were there for the old stuff anyway. I only made one purchase and left by noon , so I didn`t get prices on tractors . I got the 55 rj35 early model with tank stand, aluminum wheel original engine two piece front wheels missing Schnacke recoil and correct intake belt guard and oil bath air filter. I spoke with one of the owners and he said they took it in on trade about 30 years ago and was sitting on a shelf since.

I ended up getting a 657 with a 10hp Tech engine, 1277, belts, fenders(400 series) and hoods(520H,416-8 and 520xi), tire chains, Howard tiller blades, tiller, snow blowers and dozer blades. Prices were cheap on parts. The D160 with the blade went for $475. The rear end was pretty rusty because they had a salt spreader out back.

Looking at the load of parts I picked at the auction last week, I realized I almost had enough parts to make a tractor. I may have to buy another gallon of bondo to fix the hood.

The bell had to stay. I used to deliver pizza's at the Steam Pageant with the 704. I needed some kind of horn to get people to move out of the way. So I found the bell at a yard sale. It's going on my 1267

Now that the suburbans are down to little odds and ends, I'm starting on my 57 RJ 35. Glass bead blasted a few parts today. Going to dismantle and prep as I go. Everything will be down to bare metal like these parts.

That is a 1972 Super Beetle. I bought it new when I was stationed in Maine in the Navy. I ordered the Formula V shifter and a factory trailer hitch. I really loved that car...had it for 11 years That blue was really cool under mercury lights and it had the white interior. The pin stripping definitely set that car off.

Not only does your tow vehicle need to weight more than what you're towing for stopping purposes, but also it's important when towing up a hill. If not, this can happen.

Put a shut off valve in the heater hose going to the heater core. Shut the flow off in warm weather and open the valve to flow through the core when the weather is cold. cheap and quick fix.

One of the owners told me they traced the RJ35 to be number 98.

The 953-1054 bevel gear should have 2 different differential end plates like the pic posted of the 10 pinion differential...All the one I have tore down and rebuilt one end plate had threaded holes for the bolts...I wish I had pics to show you but my last Bevel gear differential went to Illinois a couple weeks ago. If you look at the 11/44 tooth gear or the gear that turns the differential you can see were tour needle bearing rides the look at the end of the differential end plate (red-rusty looking one) the spot were the 1533 ball bearing rides should be the same height....you need the correct end cap that has the threaded holes for your 4 differential bolts...Your axle should be different lengths also to make up the difference in the offset of the differential.

7-31-1916 “First Lady” of NASCAR Louise Smith born On this day in 1916, the future racing legend Louise Smith, who will become the first woman inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, is born in Barnesville, Georgia. In the mid-1940s, the racing promoter Bill France was looking for a female driver as a way to attract spectators to some of the earliest events in what would become the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) circuit. Before a race near Greenville, South Carolina, in 1946, he heard of Louise Smith, a local resident who was famous for outrunning law enforcement on the roads. With France’s encouragement, Smith entered the race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in a 1939 Ford and finished third. Unaware that a checkered flag meant the finish line, she kept going beyond the end of the race until someone threw out a red flag. Though her husband Noah, the owner of a junkyard, didn’t approve of her new speed-demon career, Smith was hooked. In 1947, she famously “borrowed” Noah’s new car, a Ford coupe, and drove it to watch races in Daytona Beach, Florida. She ended up entering the race herself and wrecking the car, a fact she tried to conceal from him, not knowing that the news had made the front page of the Greenville paper before she returned home. Smith subsequently became a regular on France’s new circuit, appearing in NASCAR events throughout the United States and Canada for the next decade. She won 38 races and had some spectacular crashes, including one in which her car overturned, earning her 48 stitches and four pins in her left knee. Dubbed the “Good Ol’ Gal” by her fellow drivers, Smith nonetheless struggled in the masculine world of NASCAR. As she told the Associated Press in 1998: “Them men were not liking it to start with and they wouldn’t give you an inch.” Smith retired in 1956 but remained active in the racing world: She sponsored various drivers, and was involved in the Miss Southern 500 Scholarship Pageant at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. In 1999, she was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in Talladega, Alabama. Smith died in April 2006, at the age of 89

I may have to watch my diet this winter so I can squeeze my rear into the bucket next summer. That hood was off a raider that did a back flip off a trailer resulting in a mashed steering wheel and a hood and grill was folded together. This was one hood I didn't hesitate to cut up. BTW, The flipped Raider with new hood and wheel is alive and well.

I think that is the easiest way. Use a long pry bar in the slot hitch and get something to give. Keep going up and down, while putting in some penetrating oil. Once the hitch moves pretty good, cut it off with a saws-all between the trans and the hitch. Whatever was moving will now come out...impact air chisel works great. Now you can take the hitch by itself and drill it out, heat it, press it or do an exorcism.

This was my first auction and I thought the crowd was pretty small. I was in awe at some of the stuff that sold cheap. The other D went for 170.00 should have bid higher on that one. I did get a nice lawn roller and OHRob72 I think you sold me a fender I am putting on my son's c175 perfect fit just need to paint and bolt on.

Just found this forum, and great timing. I'm in the process of working on a B-80 that has been sitting in my mom's garage since my dad passed away 14 years ago. My dad repaired tractors for extra money and this one started up right away after I replaced the fuel tank gasket. Now I'm trying to make it go faster so I can use it to win my yearly neighborhood lawn mower race, which is taking place on Labor Day weekend. I removed the rear drive pulley, stamped with 100425 and 7492, and now I'd like to find a smaller one. I know this is 3/4" ID, with a key and set screw. Does anyone know where I can find a listing of pulleys that will work? It is a 6" and I'm thinking of going to a 4 or somewhere around that.

Having owned Mercedes for quite some years, let me just tell you that what you have there is a REAL Mercedes, not the over glorified tin cans that they make now. I drove that exact same model for years until it had over 500,000 miles. It is still going today in someone else's hand with almost 650,000 on it. There is also a 240D in the family from1978 with half a million on it. Those things are nearly indestructible. On top of that they have character. People know that it is either you or a concrete delivery coming. There are no other cars on the road that will last like that with that kind of mileage on them. Yours is a mere baby! My mistake was to fall for the allure of the new sleek models . Like I said before over glorified tin cans. Every time i see one of like yours I just look at it with respect.

Is the rag tied to the steering wheel a custom spinner? That's a smart mod. Your but won't sweat as much sitting on a cloth seat and there is a high back so you're less likely to fall off backwards when your drunk mowing the wet grass at 6:00 in the morning......

I cut the pin out and got the hitch itself out of the way. It was flush with the case and the pin started to move and eventually i got it out.

I think the snap rings have a flat side and the other side is beveled a little. If so, the flat side should be out. Replace the snap ring, and you might be able to clean up the groove with a hack saw...doesn't take much. Drilling and tapping would be a last resort, but that does work...just ask my 702.

Welcome, Troy. As you know, I'm a JD guy myself also, but do like the Wheel Horses also. I just like good quality machines, which JD and WH both have. My garage is filled pretty much now with a few green ones and 3 red ones. In some ways, the square fender 110/112s, and the 200 series John Deeres use a similar setup for drive train and pto as the longer frame Wheel Horses. The Wheel Horses don't have the variator, but the setup is similar, side shaft engines with the belts routed to the deck and drive train. Deere used a more direct belt routing for the decks than Wheel Horse, which used a setup for deck belt routing similar to CCs. But a good quality machine comes in several different colors.

I had to get a wheel off of my 1267. The roll pin would not budge so I had to shear it. A small HF bearing separator under the wheel, backed up by a large separator. Then a big honkin gear puller to grab the large separator. turning the gear puller screw was a 24" cresent wrench I bent the bolts on the HF separator but the wheel came off.
