A note on sanding these heads....pointy fingers help, but a bit of your sand paper around a rounded pencil eraser helps. And to get that last 1500 or 2k finish, try a plastic bristle brush!

Works great getting into all the nooks and crannies.

Now the question, more capcity and size first or go 4 color...im currently thinking get the extra capacity and size first especially if yall are pleased with options thus far.

went through last night and tweaked the scales on all the horse heads, making sure the slight modifications here an there hadn't thrown stuff outta whack and size etc. was consistent.

Also trying a batch of prints without the rim around them, should make cleanup easier and reduce visibility of the seam.

Anyone ever thought much about the back of their seat?

Numbers today put us about 2/3 of the way to the new printer!

After a couple of custom designs are finished, I think next is the hitching post toppers!

thinking a cylindrical mount with basically the same heads but oversized, maybe 4"-6" tall?

All of the above ideas are pretty good considering who might be interested in various ones. I'm particularly fond of the three-dimensional logo.

About what sized space do we have to work with? As most appear to be a narrow rectangle

Maybe "WHEEL" (LOGO) "HORSE" ?

I guess If you already have "WHEEL HORSE" across the back of your fenders it would be kind of repetitive to do it on the back of the seat too.

So first revision will likely be Just the logo customizable to match your ornament, headlight bezel, and steering wheel insert.

That's what I was thinking anyway....

Warmer weather in the next few days.

Maybe I'll put in a requisition to The Paint Department about the headlight lense.

I decided to have a go at making an ornament from scratch out of aluminum, aluminium, amulinimum. Whatever...

Started out with a biggish piece so I could grip it on the milling machine.

20210320_110512.jpg.94e61e0b741d0de369addf897c72235a.jpgMachined the taper on both sides, then milled the angled faces, then did a lot of abrasive belt work to blend and polish.

20210320_141856.jpg.68877860bd9242fd980ccf6031842158.jpgLooks pretty decent scale wise and im happy overall for a mornings work.

Right Said Fred!  Nice work!

You going to clear coat so it doesn't oxidize?

I’m building a lowered 300 series wheelhorse. So far it’s a combination of 3 scrap tractors.
the frame, trans and tins are from a GT2500 anniversary special given to me by a neighbor with a trashed Briggs. The Kohler M12 is from a junkyard 312 that was roached. The parts tractor I’m using for the build was another older 312. I’ve got the k301 in the garage. The trans was toast. Both axles wallowed out keyways and 1 axle actually broken.
Anyway! I needed a project and a toy to putt around the neighborhood. I couldn’t find any other posts on how to do the whole thing. I’m trying to keep it cheap using stuff I have on hand and looking as “stock but cooler” as possible. So here we go.
I’ll update this as I go along.
