@Wheel Horse 3D what did you use to glue Gary together?

Gary was PLA, and common wisdom says acetone wont work on PLA. Acetone works fine on PLA, just needs more time. Soooo. I made a slurry of abs dissolved in acetone and slathered it on. Takes a bit to set but worked great. The slurry took longer for the acetone to evaporate and welded the parts right together.

I find an ABS slurry will glue just about anything!

At the reception line after the show, when Gary was brought out,all the cast and crew chanted for their mascot..."Gary!,GARY!,GARY!" LOL  Great to have been a small part of these kids showcasing some excellent talent.20220430_213429.jpg.673bca2587bac2f789ccad4761cde664.jpg

Ok heres some new little tinkerings...

Lithophane panels. Light from behind to reveal a photograph or other image. Can be made up to about 12x12. And in various shapes. ARC, CYLINDER,FLAT PANE, triangular, hexagonal and adapted as desired.

Maybe also a thought for some headlight inserts!

Just finished install of new auto level systems on both of the big printers. Now maybe i can finally get the layers to smooth out for the GT14 dash!

Command G29 and the probe double taps 9 different points on the bed and creates a virtual map of the bed correcting for variances in the glass surface. Have it set up to G29 at the start of every print.

It has been an adventurous year plus of printer malfunctions, bed, and filament tweaks, firware reflashing, piles of failed dashes, printer upgrades...BUT..I think were finally there!(a Tonight ill be starting a full dash print with the settings etc i used for this test....

Another quick tinkering that has been added to the store.. pole standoffs to alow ridgid mounting of a Starlink dish! Mounting in this fashion is much more ridgid and secure than utilizing some sort of adapter that goes on top of the pole. An adapter in that fashion just provides a weak point.(speaking from years of tower work experience)

These are easy peasy to install and just use hose clamps.(i cover hoseclamps with electrical tape to secure the tails for safety)20220823_180934.jpg.b3d7da409fa622eecb306d6b741db94b.jpg

Gotta be a trick to make that right.

Some baker cooker persons around might help.

If'n I were closer I'd be glad to sample the results. A lot.

I’m building a lowered 300 series wheelhorse. So far it’s a combination of 3 scrap tractors.
the frame, trans and tins are from a GT2500 anniversary special given to me by a neighbor with a trashed Briggs. The Kohler M12 is from a junkyard 312 that was roached. The parts tractor I’m using for the build was another older 312. I’ve got the k301 in the garage. The trans was toast. Both axles wallowed out keyways and 1 axle actually broken.
Anyway! I needed a project and a toy to putt around the neighborhood. I couldn’t find any other posts on how to do the whole thing. I’m trying to keep it cheap using stuff I have on hand and looking as “stock but cooler” as possible. So here we go.
I’ll update this as I go along.
