but the one with the 'hair' all over it sure looks red!

Lol same filament! It is what Id consider PLAIN red. I need to find some a little darker, a bit more Cherry or Brick in there.

Some of those keyfobs might be nice with glow-in-the dark filament

@Jeff-C175 heres ya some size comparisons jeff! The small one is what id consider a "charm". And the keyfob is 150% from that.

Forgive my memory.... Have we established whether we can use a regular spray paint like Rust-Oleum on these?

I think that was a yes.....?

Any spray enamel should work great! Any solvent based paint should be good.

That being the case either red(ish) or gray is fine for me.

I imagine that the 'glow in the dark' will not be red?

If it is/can be, I'm gonna wait a bit for that.

I looked all over. Red glow in the dark is impossible to find in ABS and the PLA is very pricey. I'll keep lookin!

Thinking of creating a governor bracket to limit motion of the FWD/REV lever on Dug. Make it where I can limit it to slow slow slow in fwd or reverse for teaching our grandson! Maybe make something that attaches under the bolt on the right just under the dash and the governor bracket can be opened/closed or slid on or removed as wanted.

If you got something that's more " fire engine" or "arrest-me" red I'll wait til then.... But if that's the red for now it'll do perfectly fine.

😀

I'd have my specialist paint the wheel black and call it good.

Ive got another red filament on the way, be here in a week or 2. Even this one looks ok as a fob, but I can always use this filament for mug handles, or ornament blanks etc. Im curious to see how the new filament looks and have another silver filament coming as well. I also ordered a little of the red glow in the dark paint just to try.

I’m building a lowered 300 series wheelhorse. So far it’s a combination of 3 scrap tractors.
the frame, trans and tins are from a GT2500 anniversary special given to me by a neighbor with a trashed Briggs. The Kohler M12 is from a junkyard 312 that was roached. The parts tractor I’m using for the build was another older 312. I’ve got the k301 in the garage. The trans was toast. Both axles wallowed out keyways and 1 axle actually broken.
Anyway! I needed a project and a toy to putt around the neighborhood. I couldn’t find any other posts on how to do the whole thing. I’m trying to keep it cheap using stuff I have on hand and looking as “stock but cooler” as possible. So here we go.
I’ll update this as I go along.
