1..... I've never actually run them so I'll let somebody else answer that...

2. I have two reasons very separate from each other for running a tall stack on Cinnamon Horse.

The first reason is that I just like the look of stacks. That's obviously nothing more or less than an opinionated thing and to each his own...

Notwithstanding that is the actual HEIGHT.

I run mine so tall because I want the exhaust to be completely out of my face and I find that with a shorter, quite frankly more aesthetically pleasing, stack on there the exhaust just blows right back at me.

I don't want it coming out either of the sides because it still comes right back at me and I can't point it down because I live in a forest that gets very dry throughout the year and I don't want exhaust and sparks blowing on my fire hazard.

yeah but you could put a pair of half-eaten jelly donuts for front tires on that thing and it still would look cool

Do you find that they bite better in turns than a tri rib?

Guess I am of a practical bent.  "Cool" looking doesn't get my interest or money.  Hence no Ags on the front. Stacks do not work for me.  Short stacks exhaust at face level and I have lots of low hanging tree branches so tall stack are out.

My first stack?  Practicality.  I needed a new muffler, had a Cherry Bomb.  I’m quite frugal, most times.  After the first, stacks are like tractors.  Can’t just have one.

I switched to fluid filled ag's on the front of the 854 8 speed back in 2010 or so to give better steering while plowing. The tires are narrow compared to the C series - I leave them on all year, just pull the 25 Lb weights off  - no adverse effect on the grass ....

1) easier steering and/or better steering traction in the mud

2) like @ebinmaine said, having the exhaust out of you face and being able to install a longer, more silence muffler (the more pipe after themuffler, the better the muffler will work)

and the looks of course

Nope, these are just a bunch of old 100% useless tractors just to ride around the property with once and awhile.  Its kinda like an old folks home here for old garden tractors!

Front Ag's reversed ( backward) give better grip on turns. I have a pair here marked that if on a steering axle reverse them.

My question has always been - If you are going to run ag's on the front why does everyone put them on backwards?? A free rolling ag tire should be installed the opposite direction of a drive tire. They may not look as pretty this way but they will be more effective.

You were faster to the punch on that one @squonk :handgestures-thumbupright:

Why would that be? Then they would build up mud no?

Yes sir, same tractor, same ags!

Sitting proudly there under that beautiful American flag that allows you to set up your W-H tractor in this country any way you see fit to.

God bless the U.S.A.
