There was a fella up here in Maine a few years back that had a 90s chevy with a front snowblower. He was contracted for clearing one lane private camp roads.

I remember very little about the machine but it was 7 or 8 feet wide and self powered.

Quite a rig.

Good choice of truck to mount ite to, as well.  Looks like a '72 GMC.

I don’t think I’d have thought of hydraulic drive, that’s slick!  I’d imagine a PTO base pallet system in the bed could make it useful during summer months too...

An old GMC, a Detroit ,a bucket to keep the snow from sucking in, a block of wood for a throttle, and a radio! :banana-wrench:

There’s a young guy on YouTube repowering trucks and tractors with Predator engines.  I imagine the top speed of the blower, it would be easy to find an old carcass of a truck and toss a Kohler under the hood.. enough gearing and it’ll move.  I have a Perkins 3 cylinder diesel laying around...  hmm...  :ROTF:

Seems like I’ve seen that one too.  They are pretty cool... I’m not sure how practical in our area any more...

You could tie into the PTO engine’s cooling for that :handgestures-thumbupright:

...and the chains don't even spill his coffee !

That's pretty dang ingenious . I originally thought :eusa-think: hmmmmm , why doesn't he just run the hydro off of the 350 under the hood . Then seeing him idle along in granny gear , the Detroit made sense even though it's about a thousand times overkill :greetings-clappingyellow:. Go BIG or go HOME !

You could probably take a quad ride and find all the parts you need to build one in the woods :orcs-cheers:

This thread is reinforcing the thoughts I've had of attachifying the monster walk behind snowblower to the front of a Wheelhorse.

As it sits it's a 13HP 38" cut. I could easily make it a 50" cut with side wings.

Plenty of power.

But for no good reason whatsoever.....

No good reason?  How about, just because I can, or for the fun of it, or look what I can build, or I'm going to make everybody else jealous, or..., or.....

My mother has her driveway done with this company. They use rear mounted snow blowers. She loves it. It dosnt mess up her yard or leave big snow piles at the end of driveway.

That’s a sweet piece of equipment @D_Mac!  I often wondered how a snowblower on the back of a pickup would do...
