ATolles 52 #26 Posted May 9, 2020 Have no Idea! It sure doesn’t look like any type of oil I’ve ever seen!

It came off of a 417A, so it's going to work perfectly. At only $15 and free shipping, it's not worth the trouble to jury rig something. I've bought a few parts from Matt, and he always ships promptly. Jim Edited May 10, 2020 by SPINJIM

Likely condensation that has developed over many cold/hot cycles. If you let it sit in a clear container the water will separate and go to the bottom over a period of time and you will see how much there is. The hydro pumps are great blenders. ATolles 52 #29 Posted May 10, 2020 @SPINJIM I looked all over Ebay for the 417A dipstick. What is the listing title? Thanks everyone for all the help.

It's "Wheel Horse 417-A transmission oil dipstick". Make sure you put the dash in the 417-A, and look in Mower Parts & Accessories, under Home & Garden, not just in Mowers. ATolles 52 #32 Posted May 10, 2020 I changed the oil (10W-30) today in the Eaton 1100 transmission and used a NAPA (WIX) 1410 Trans filter. I also changed the oil in the KT17 Series 2 motor (SAE 30) and installed a new fuel filter. Is there an oil filter for the KT17 Series 2 motor? I didn’t see one. Thanks.

ATolles 52 #34 Posted May 10, 2020 I looked everywhere and count find one on mine. I found a manual for the KT17 Series 2. I think the oil filter was an option.
ATolles 52 #35 Posted May 10, 2020 @cleat Good advice on the gas cap. I just ordered a new 7” long one from Amazon.
ATolles 52 #36 Posted May 16, 2020 Started getting some new things for my 417-A. I put on a new gas cap with level indicator and new trans dipstick assembly. Changed the trans oil and filter (changing for a second time today because there was so much bad oil the first time), KT17 motor oil, and fuel filter. I’m looking for the part number for the KT17 Series 2 air filter. Anyone have that number? Thanks.

ATolles 52 #38 Posted May 17, 2020 @gwest_ca Really appreciate the info. The filter housing that I’m putting the filter in is the series 2 deicing version. I should be able to find the size from the file though gave me. Thanks.
