This thing is HEAVY and woulda never done it by myself without the FEL @cschannuth!  busted a gonad just rolling it to get it back on the skid.

Hooked up the whole house generator… neat feature is remote monitor and plugs. Keep by back door for easy check on generator demand and performance…

 

DTE says 3 hours… heard that before…

Edit: Power came on at 5:30 pm so I took opportunity to change the very hot oil…

Today I sat through 4hrs  of jury selection and was not selected out of the pool. Case sounded interesting, kinda wanted to sit in on this one.  Too late in the day to go back to work so I decided to throw this little 11hp Briggs back together. .020 over piston, std OEM rod, lapped and fit the new valves. Should be ready for many hrs. of service again. It's a worker so I didn't bother with giving it a fresh paint job.

I lived in MA for 11 adult years. Here in Maine for 22 or so. 

I was selected in MA a few times but only had to show once. 

I mixed up the days and never went. Called the next day and they said I was all set.

In Wisconsin you get selected to be on a jury duty lottery for 1 month. I was selected for the month March. Can't win $2 on a Power Ball or Mega Millions lottery, put me on this type of lottery and I get picked 4 times.. They start off with about 35 to 40 people and whittle it down to 15. Yes I know a jury is 12 but they choose 15 in case the are circumstances where some juror's need to be excused before the trial is over. If all 15 make it through the trial, 3 are chosen at random to be excused before the decision making process starts. 

 

My first appearance this month, I was chosen and then dismissed as I stated that I would find it hard to be impartial given the nature of the accusations against the plaintiff. (& we'll just leave that as it is) Second appearance was resolved before the trial so I didn't have to appear. Today I was never even chosen to sit in the jury box, but still had to sit through the whole selection process.  I have one more appearance on the 31st, will see what comes of that. After the 31st I will not be up for selection again for 4yrs.

Few day’s earlier an idiot on an excavator 2 valley’s ahead has ripped the complete fibre wire whilst digging the wrong depth -

the result 4 Valley‘s without internet for a few day‘s.

a great Wheelhorse day after a snowless winter this year.

 

at least i egalized the molehills with an idea

i use my snowplow and my selfmade back rake as a perfect combo.

 

if anybody needs a good idea to egalize molehills, i be absolutely satisfied with the result.

A  couple weeks of spring temps  blossomed out all the fruit trees.   Now we have 3 days of 25F temps.      Same thing happened last year and I lost everything but a few plums.

Trying to prevent a killer frost this year.

 

 

 

 

Wow, I got them cover just in time.

Had to replace the overhead door operator, so that gave me something to do today. Can't believe I only got 20 some odd years out of it. Aren't they supposed to last for the life of the barn?

Cleanup today the Spindles from old Grease.

 

 

spindles now work much smoother but the Motor still is not able to lift a Car or either a Truck.

but it lifts the Horsie...

 

 

 

also not bad for a faster Service in backfriendly height.

gearoil change, motoroil change and a complete Geasing of all zerks is done pretty simple.

 

It appears the motor i buyed is a little to weak.

It has 2,2 KW like the old one but it must work with 3x 230V in triangle instead of 3x 400V in star connection,

so i loose about 30% of possible power while working with a VFD.

Let‘s see if i can improve the torque by changing some vfd settings, if not i may built a Jackshaft for another Gear reduction.

The motor via the VFD can easily spin the double the rpm‘s so another 2:1 reduction can do the Trick.

We will see.

Had a great day getting some serious cleanup done in and near the newly cleared garden (+)  area behind the backyard and outdoor workshop building. 

We had our hiking buddies Kevin and Samantha over to help out in trade of the usual surly attitude and fairly decent coffee along with a nicely done BBQ chicken/veggies meal by Trina.  

 

 

As a size reminder this pic shows Trina in front of the larger of the two piles we burned.  

 

We also took a bunch of waste boards and pallets along with many other branches/sticks/brush from the surrounding ground. 

 

 

Here's Trina and her mom working at the smaller pile. 

 

They were pulling from the area to the left of and behind the pile clearing brush.

I spent a bunch of time sorting out the leaves from this huge pile and plopping the sticks on the burn pile. 

It was burning fast enough that with only feeding it I could barely keep up. 

 

 

 

I can't lift anything heavy with my left arm for a bit so Trina and Kevin moved some of the old construction waste to the burn mound.

Note that the entire pile behind him... ISN'T.  

There's also quite alot of old woodstuff missing from behind him on that little hill. 

 

I've been in this house 17 years and don't remember ever having that area completely emptied. 

 

 

I other news, Trina has taken it upon herself to dam up the new frog pond and raise the level a little. 

She's been strategically placing stones, mud, and now this yellow birch log to do so.
