I diagnosed a problem with a Hobart Handler 135 welder. Stuff like that can be hard to figure when there are two unrelated points of failure. This welder is OK for the thin stuff ,and I was adding sheet metal behind some engine tins where the weight of the coil on a 145 blew out the metal [shaker mount engine}. First, the trigger on the gun did not work, but penetrating oil made it work again. Then the wire did not advance. Since the solenoid was making the click sound as normal, I decided to take the cover off and give it a look .

The simplest control there was the wire feed with one wire in and out of the speed control  potentiometer. Jumpered it and the wire started feeding again. At least the computer board was not compromised and it feels pretty good to guess right the first time. Double failures are not that common, unless the feed switch somehow took out the wire speed potentiometer.

Bit of a deliveries day.

load of lumber from the Woodyard and steel box section from the steel supplier to make a new fence.

New section of worktop and an oak internal door for the kitchen project.

Then just enough time to put the Honda mower back together for a test run to make sure the new deck metal doesn't foul the blade.

20201005_090109.jpg.d6d831c163b6ca843baa9ba033624e96.jpgThis is the underside before I began rebuilding. The new sections of aluminium bonded in place with specialist adhesive.

All went well and I will have a test cut next dry day we get. Its tipping down here at present.

Spent the last two days helping my mate Dunc empty his workshop at his old home. Four trailer loads in total. My 6x12 and his 5x10, over to his new home in Scotland.

He's hired a Merc' Sprinter for tomorrow, for the greenhouse glass and remainder of what's in the house.

I rolled out of bed at 3:40 this morning. Worked out doing martial arts with Trina and her Sensei from 4:00 to 4:35 via zoom.

Got to work for 6:00 like usual. Still working at 3:15 Eastern Time.

Intentions this evening are to go home and thoroughly research the inside of my eyelids...

Introducing “Snoot”, Snooter for short.  He’s the happy guy waving at everyone.  Don’t ask about his name... long story!

I’ve had these a year or two.  They’ll probably be in mid-WI in a couple weeks...  :handgestures-thumbupright:

Awesome!  He stopped by last year and hung out for a while.  We got him a pit pass (from the collection plate) and hung out for a while watching practice.  Something about the World’s Fastest 1/2 mile track and the fastest cars in the nation coming to play!

Figured out this weekend that a $5 wheelchair, a tow strap and a golf cart make for a real fun time!  @Achto @prondzy @WHX24 @Shynon this might be more fun than water skiing behind a :wh:!  The key is to watch out for the ‘tater patch, loose crushed asphalt with your Jesus Cruisers on and make sure there is plenty of crowd to watch it not work out so well when those things arise!

When I was a boy, we lived at the bottom of a hill. Up the hill lived a chap who had lost use of his legs through polio. He'd come down that hill in his wheelchair on the rear wheels only. The trick is to lean back so the castors are off the ground.  Could be a bit difficult holding on to the straps though.

Today I heard a great friend of mine had passed away, he was younger than me and had only a few years till retiring from the force. He leaves a wife and two lovely kids. Bless him and keep him.

Also took a trip to the coast with our dogs to blow away the blues.

Made us smile seeing them on the beach fir the first time.

Thanks Eric,  I feel it coming through loud and clear.

Three years short of retirement my friend was taken from us by an aggressive cancer.

I feel genuinely as if a part of me has died along with steve.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes, far too many people are being taken by this horrible illness.

Aye. Mitigate the morose mood my Mick mate.

Over the last few years I've found positive karma to be quite lightweight. Some say it even compares to helium.

With that in mind you can feel free to keep an amount of what I sent over with you in your pocket.

The only real disadvantage to positive karma over helium that I can find is not being able to make a very interesting voice as we do after inhaling helium.....
