ebinmaine 63,142 #1 Posted November 17, 2019 (edited) My honey/Trina/BBT and her mom have been building us a roughly 6 x 8 foot wood shed. The only help I've given was standing up the roof assembly and securing it. ALL spare parts from past projects except the siding they started putting on today. Note the spaces between the boards. They're about 2" gapped for air flow. The bottom of each board has a nail driven in part way to hold them out 1/2" or so. The water will run from the bottom of each board to the face of the next. I'm not a little dude. Be careful, Some temporary bracing in the center roof might be a good ideal. I can't tell from the picture what you used for the roof structure. ebinmaine 63,142 #11 Posted November 18, 2019 @Lee1977 There are diagonals on the interior of the three closed walls. The roof structure itself is one full solid single steel set up. I'm thinking while I am installing the pieces of metal roofing up there I will probably run some braces to the ground. To be honest, I don't think I need them but better safe than sorry. You can see where they reversed the direction of the diagonal brace on the back wall. They also worked on putting the clapboards on the walls some more and installed vertical braces on the inside for the wood piles to rest against. Those braces are pieces of harvested forest wood. Saplings. Today we installed the gable pieces and put some Typar type material over the top just to make it waterproof until we get time to install the metal roofing. 2 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
