use a winch or start them in low gear at idle and let them creep up the ramp then turn the key off at the top while standing beside them

We'll do both here.

Two of our tractors have low gear so they can be idled up just fine.

The other two are a little too fast even at idle so we will probably use a come along or just push them up manually.

Great idea to use the ramp ends as stops but I'm leaving these flat so that I can drive on or off either side uninterrupted. Never know what you're going to find when you get to your destination.

Spent some time today drilling all the holes to mount them. Hoping to get the bolts on Tuesday and fasten them down because I need to load the trailer this Thursday evening for the North Berwick meet and greet.

I also expanded the holes where the straps attach.

Curious to know why you think that?

ALL THE WEIGHT IS UP TOO HIGH. THAT IS ALSO OVER WHAT YOUR TOW CAR IS RATED FOR. STRAPS TO HOLD TRACTORS ARE NOT ON RIGHT. YOU NEED SOME THING TO TIE THE TRACTORS TO.

No worries Russ.

As a professional CDL driver and having spent many hours in training with DOT and OSHA I assure you it's safe to use.

I've even consulted with a commercial trailer and truck body builder.

The tractors and trailer weigh a combined 1600 lbs or so.

The cross ramps are rated at 1000 lbs. The heavier of the two is 575.

The ramps are bolted to the trailer rails with 4 bolts each.

DOT rules require 2 straps.

Each tractor is held down with 4 straps.

Each strap is WLL rated to hold more than the weight of a tractor.

.

Trina and I are both VERY safety conscious both by mindset and training.

Looks good EB! Trailer looks nice and sturdy. That old trailer that I showed you that I was working I just got back from sandblast and powder coat. I finished the axle over the weekend, new bearings and races and then I coated the axle and leafsprings with spray on bed liner. Hopefully that will be a little tougher than paint.

Sounds like yours should be pretty rugged with that spray on bed liner. That's usually pretty tough stuff.

We took this on our maiden voyage down to see @JCM Jim and his family over the weekend. It went excellent.

One thing that is important to remember is that this is NOT a box store cheap landscape trailer.

My trailer has a net load carrying capability of over 2500 lb.

GVW is 3400 lb.

The side rails on this trailer were overbuilt right from the factory and are in great condition.

I do want to thank @SALTYWRIGHT Russ for bringing some things to my attention. I was not super happy with the way the Cinnamon was rocking about 1/2" on the way down.

At Russ's attention-getting I changed the way we did the straps for both tractors.

On the return trip and I was much much happier. No movement whatsoever.

Got to thinking the other day I could update this thread.

The trailer has been great!

Pulls straight as an arrow. Works great with the fact that we can store stuff/items/things under the tractors. The cooler actually fits between the two sets of ramps thanks to the forethought of the BBT.

The convenience of being able to load from either side has been very handy.

@RandyLittrell

Ya done well sir.

I was working on one of my trailers the other day and was thinking about your trailer and wondered if it was still working out. Glad it is!!

If I had money and energy to build all the things I lay awake and think about, I would have a lot of crap!!

I had a long enjoyable career as a autoglass/bodyman but I would have enjoyed being a fabricator!

I enjoy all the stuff you post that you and Trina do, you guys are some hard workers!!
