Part of an old wagon frame?

Yup. Front running gear.

Story time: he died in 1949 at 75 and only owned one vehicle. He wrecked that vehicle when one of my great-uncles touched him as he was concentrating on driving. He went back to his wagon after that.

Sounds like that ol' boy had a fair pile o common sense.

My grandmother was kind of funny. Used to irritate her to no end that little old ladies would drive so damn slow. Now mind you... she was probably 70 or older when she said that.

She got to be about mid eighties I would say and she went and turned in her driver's license. She didn't want to be one of those...

My grandma is 93 and has never had a driver's license. The closest she got was moving the pickup around the huge front yard at their old farm when grandpa was at work. Very slowly...

How big is that hole? One time I thought of something similar to remove a stuck steering wheel from the shaft.Steering wheel was plastic and didn't want to damage it. Idea was to hit it from other side of block.

The hole is 1 3/4" in diameter and depth. Bottom is closed and no hammering required.

My mother was thirty five years old when she got her driver's license, fastest she would drive was 35 MPH. Fast forward fifty years (pun intended) and she was very comfortable driving 85 MPH. Fortunately she voluntarily surrendered her license on her ninetieth birthday.

By the way, she never had an accident and never had a citation for speeding. There was a NY State Trooper that followed her into the driveway once. He had observed her exceeding the speed limit, but he then realized my mother had been his third grade teacher and he just had a nice talk with her, didn't even mention her speed!       :handgestures-thumbupright:

Silly me I should have seen that.

Is it a jig to accomplish something or sort of an implement or accessory?

Yes it is. The 1 3/4" hole was turned prior to cutting it in half.      :confusion-confused:     What part on a :wh: is 1 3/4" diameter?       :handgestures-thumbupright:

@953 nutGood idea. Clever. You actually had me going. Wife caught me outside looking at a horse with a stick ruler in my hand trying to figure out what was 1-3/4". Sure enough she had one of her usual remarks" just what the heck are you planning to do to it now". Seems like every time I am looking at a tractor I get caught.

These are just in line with Ed's @Ed Kennellhair singeing sticks. Probably from same time period although incredibly still available today. Grandpa would know what they are.

It does have to do with your body. Related to something Ed @Ed Kennell knows a bit about.
