formariz 11,902 #103 Posted April 27, 2019 You must think of all of the hand tools used in working wood and what is necessary for all of them to do so well. Then you have to think about them individually. Then if you did so completely you will start to get the idea.

Mows4three 825 #114 Posted April 27, 2019 Ha! I have several hand scrapers for cabinet work. Always dressed them with a fine flat file and rolled the edge with a piece of HSS that my brother in law gave me. This gadget is pretty nifty. Looks like it would create a very consistent edge. I like to hand scrape but I've gotten some pretty nasty blisters from the quickly built up heat generated by the friction of a dulling edge. Cheers! Fun stuff. formariz 11,902 #115 Posted April 27, 2019 I use scrapers all of the time. On the most used ones I have a protective build up of tape to protect from the heat . Tool works great . It only will not work on a concave scraper. For that I use the old burnisher on photo.
Stormin 9,976 #116 Posted April 27, 2019 (edited) I'm still thinking about it. Had an early night as it's now 4-45am here and I'm hitting the road soon. Pirelli Rally today and I'm marshalling somewhere in a forest in Northumberland. Just realised I thought I was on page 4. Well it is rather early.
