OldWorkHorse 3,092 #23980 Posted June 23 (edited) Well it's hot out... so what better thing to do than some summer cleaning. Dragged the 3 Horsemen out for a cleaning. The little one came down and offered her assistance so we washed them up nice and finished off with a nice hand towel drying! Now to go melt in the pool! Lane Ranger 11,368 #23981 Posted June 24 Took out the five RJ’s for a breather! My twin granddaughters are going to do some riding today! It all started in 1960 when dad bought a 1958 RJ. ! Now I have five great ones - one for each grandkid if they want one! The RJ’s propelled Wheel Horse into the great company that manufactured these garden tractors. 1958/59 RJs had 22 attachments. IMG_0859.mov Wheel Horse made 24,000. Of them and garbed $2.5 million in profit to be able to build a brand new factory on the South Side of South Bend on Ireland Road! 2

Pullstart 66,258 #23984 Posted June 24 I got my new 14 Auto going today. The aftermarket carb had a float that wouldn’t quit flowing, a choke lever that was inside out, and the 2017 battery that we scooped off the barn floor held a charge for a week, long enough to pull fuel through and get it fired up! I’m impressed with this machine! After about 45 feet of driving it, it makes me want to keep it. The headlight lense is in great shape, the lights even work, and it’s quite quick! What’s not to love about a big block, hydro lift and electric clutch? The rear toolbox is pretty cracked up, and I sold the seat off it. I got thinking, since I passed @Sparky’s old 657 to BBT and @ebinmaine, maybe I should make this one into a round fender springer seat… 8

Handy Don 13,762 #23992 Posted Wednesday at 08:43 PM (edited) Driving a tractor in the rain highlights two of the best features of a child: they are usually game for grown-ups being silly and they are washable. Kudos to Jada‼ Over 100 here today so I’m looking forward to having that rain head this way. Edited Thursday at 12:25 AM by Handy Don 4
adsm08 3,069 #23993 Posted Wednesday at 10:37 PM (edited) Lots of WH work the last two nights. Last night I got the Commando put back together for mowing, and I was working on the 855's surge issue. I made a new carb base gasket, put the spare carb on it, and it wouldn't run off choke. I got mad and just went inside, it was after 7 and almost 100. Today one of the Commando's blade bolts sheared while mowing, doesn't look like anything got hit, the bolt just failed. So I got that set up with the 855's deck so mowing could finish before rain started. Then I took my carb back off and went through it, it was just a stuck float. Cleaned that, worked it a bit, put it together, and retuned. It's better, but still surges at times. Haven't tried to run it run it since it started raining pretty good while I was working on that. Then I got the broken bolt out of the other deck. Thankfully when the head broke off it got loose, the blade, bolt head, and washer were all recovered and no threads are damaged. That means, at least for now, all I have to do it go through my boxes of bolts to find a suitable replacement. And of course, in the middle of all that, my two went the way of @Pullstart's and started running through the retention pool at the end of the driveway, while it was pouring. At least they didn't fight about showers since they were already wet. Edited Wednesday at 10:39 PM by adsm08 2

8ntruck 7,701 #23998 Posted Thursday at 11:15 PM (edited) Morgan, the 14-8 got a bit of exercise today moving the pontoon around. Had to get it close enough to a hose bib so I could get earmuffs on the engine for the 'first of the season make sure the engine runs BEFORE we put it in the water' check. Originally planed to use Clyde, the C-195 for this, but he wasn't ready to wake up from hibernation yet. Put a battery charger on him for a bit. MainelyWheelhorse 1,394 #23999 Posted Friday at 12:17 AM (edited) Today, I got back working on the C-141. I built the cantilever and rod to run and hook up the throttle. I also ran the choke and hooked that up too. I figured I’d also see if the electronics are good before I start the engine. Just have to charge the battery now to check that. That’s a job for tomorrow. Edited Friday at 12:22 AM by MainelyWheelhorse
Pullstart 66,258 #24000 Posted Friday at 05:05 PM I got the last C-160 running from my recent haul. The previous owner told me it blew out lots of oil and “I can’t tell you how many trees I’ve hit”. I swapped out the hood with a nicer one, and cleaned up the improperly assembled breather vent assembly. It runs great, and doesn’t blow the dipstick any more! @Jrblanke here’s some pictures of it for ya! 4 7
