School Of Rock

Seen a few videos of younger people trying to break into the scene over the last year or two. Super tough business as we all know.

They all have a pretty good level of talent or they just plain would not be in that school.

The guy on lead six string ... Could be headed towards mastery if he keeps his head together.

@pfrederiri

Trina would be very happy with you. She likes the 40s music quite a lot.

I ran across this guy on YouTube recently, and I'm really enjoying listening to his versions of some old blues tunes, the word "authentic" comes to mind.  Turns out he lives a couple hours from the little town in South Carolina where I grew up so many decades ago, and I'm hoping to take a road trip down that way sometime soon, check out the old neighborhood, that sort of thing, and maybe get to see him play live if the stars line up just right.

@pfrederi      Thank you for the Count Basie. I was raised listening to this and Glenn Miller when I was very young every Saturday morning My dad would have this cranked up on the small radio in the kitchen on the counter. My dad passed in 1983 and Mom just recently in August at 97, Dad would have been 100 this November. I remember when I was at the other end of the house in my room with my stereo on with my kind of music and Dad would comment, that guy ran out of words 5 minutes ago, definitely different generations for sure. That music brought back many good memories when family's all sat down and had dinner together with no damn cell phone ringing, thanks for the memories.Oh and dinner on Saturday evening was hot dogs and beans.

I like the 40’s big band sound. Stand up bass is just too cool when someone knows how to slap it. I guess that’s one of the reasons I like this song so much. Also the guitar is great.

@19richie66

You'll be happy to know that gets the Trina seal of approval.

I can't open anything but YouTube videos on my phone.

Takes up too much space.

" … It's Candlebox, kids!"

I always liked these guys for some reason, but had no idea how intense they were live.  I kind of lost track of them over time, and just recently saw some newer videos of their reunion tour in 2018, still worth a listen.

Just heard that Frank Marino is coming to one of my favorite local old theatres in the spring, on 4/20 no less, I feel like I almost have to go!  I haven't seen him play live in many years, he's been a bit reclusive lately.  This one's been a favorite of mine for a long time, literally gives me goosebumps every time I hear it...

@rjg854     Enjoyed a Charlie Daniels Concert with Patti and Friends about 12 years ago in Massachusetts at Indian Ranch an outdoor Concert on Lake Chaubunaguangamaug  AKA Webster Lake and had an Awesome time. By the way the name of that Lake was originally 49 letters long.
