WHX?? 57,445 #1 Posted yesterday at 01:03 AM (edited) Like I said In what's in your mirror ... the holy grail ... well of round hoods anyway. And quite the full circle back story anyway. This girl popped up on MP and two members sent me texts about it since it was local. Nice I thought but I already have this one. A nice shiny resto to boot which is most likely my last resto. Just somethin about one in her original work clothes tho. This one fits the bill to a tee. So I'm not really interested it it but still it's a desirable model and pretty much all ther. So @prondzy texts me and I say sure I'll go get it just for the thrill of the score you want it. And @ineedanother says he has a problem... I says work out a deal and be morn' happy to go fetch it. So he does and I do. Not gonna say I'll double yer money Mike but wanna make a quick Franklin?!?!? Naw forget it I got my eye on a A-60. I'll let you guys stew on these pics then the back story as good as I can tell it along with the good the bad & the ugly & more pics as long as you behave. You horse men should know what it is just from the first pic. Edited yesterday at 01:18 AM by WHX?? 6

ri702bill 12,495 #4 Posted 20 hours ago Nice! Is the correct double pulley setup in place on the S/G? Are the rear fender ends pointy, not rounded - 701 only?? I do not see the toolbox braces under the set.... Those Firestones look to be in good shape too.

Yep and the belt guard is absolutely perfect. 2 hours ago, ri702bill said: rear fender ends pointy, not rounded - 701 only?? I do not see the toolbox braces under the set.. I just noticed the no braces and will have to look at the fenders. Not sure if the starter solenoid is there either. 2 hours ago, ri702bill said: Those Firestones look to be in good shape too. Yes they are and the fronts are in excellent shape as well. Gotta believe they are all orginals. 9 hours ago, Blaine said: More WH porn please. On it's way. I was going to get it up to the splash pad and see if I could get it running but now not sure if I'm even gonna do that. I don't want to interfere with anything that Mike might have planned for it.

I got the what for just for bringing this one home and had to swear on a stack of bibles that it wasn't for me. Still Sylvia since I don't use them anymore might be worth it???

peter lena 9,948 #14 Posted 10 hours ago @WHX?? hint ? that oiled front end patina , is literally showing you the way , don,t turn this into a show queen , penetrating oil spray down , leave it in the sun , as it absorbs the light creeping / seeping lubricant , it will start to show it self, NEVER USE A SCRUNGE PAD ON IT ! carefully wipe it down , with a clean , mineral oiled cloth , gently let it show itself , done a lot of it , regularly wipe my stuff down with a clean cloth , mineral oil , no dust / dirt , just consistent clean patina paint , perfect for era. just try a small area , all my paints recovered in careful stages , final paint with a 6" electric palm buffer , cleaner wax . your oiled darkened era finish would , be just right , hot sun really shows you the way , like the underside of a mower deck. pete

Regardless which one of you guys @squonk @WHX?? @rjg854 buys it - hurry up! Kevin's starting to play with groundhogs he's so bored... Boy needs something to occupy his new hauler and if my little A- 60 girl is going anywhere it's gonna be in covered style this time... although she is a bit worried about the gentlemen who are courting her, but I'm comfortable with anyone as long as they got the proper dowry... WHX?? 57,445 #19 Posted 3 hours ago The back story. Suposedly my stepson bought this tractor from Tom @Shynon a few years back. Tom says he don't remember it but he's gettin old and CRS either. My man Ryan needed money for a bad decision and sold it to this guy I got it from who never did nothin with it either. So now it's goin back to MN to Tom's boy @prondzy. nuthin like keepin in the family in a round about way! No idea what his plans are for it but I know what I would do. A frame off mechanical resto maybe some of greasy Pete's suggestions or some thing. No painting here it does have a groovy patina and what might need some paint due to welding and whatnot re-patina. It has been messed with by the looks of the painted over decals on the hood stand but it really doesn't look terrible. The good ...It's all there ... All the important stuff anyway and no deal breakers. The fenders are pointed @ri702bill but have a rusty primer look so they have been messed with. Yes the trademark struts are gone but easy fab so not a deal breaker. The belt guard is not original and was never finished. No stop tab for the belt & top mount, no cutout for the tranny input pulley and no mounting hole. Very usable tho. Tom thought maybe Lowell made it but he CRS too. The price of admission right here. . The dog guarding... The bad ... The steering is way sloppy. Drag link or bolts wallowed out. & the fan gear likes to jump a tooth. Hood front mount needs love & tank threads may need helicoils. The dash, cables, & switches & wiring all need updating of course. Wrong seat but squares are out there yet. The battery might be toast but seems to be doing well on a recovery charger at this point. No deal breakers here either. The ugly... actually there is no ugly other than the nice protective coating all over the frame and lower motor. It really is amazing the shape this is in for the age. Mike commented at Portage he was in the hunt for one for his boy. Pretty sure this is it Mike.
