Carhold 42s fuel pump

Recommended Posts

Good evening all, @953 nut @Ed Kennell I am looking to buy a Carhold 42s fuel pump, can you give any pros or cons on this pump? I read a mixed review on this. Have you had any issues with your pump. Life time warranty?  Facet posi-flo is double in price.

I have the Carbole 42S pumps on all my tractors.    The only issue I had was my fault.   I tightened the inlet filter too tight and broke the bond between the plastic body and the metal threaded fitting.      Do not let them run dry.      I always power mine from the ignition  or coil tab on the ignition switch.

I use Mr. Gasket 42s pumps on my tractors. I've heard, and they look, like identical pumps but considering that the Mr. Gasket pump is about twice the cost I was curious so I did a few minutes of research before I wrote this. They are NOT the same. So......my glowing report on the Mr. Gasket can be ignored. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to try a Carbole because of their price point. They do go 'whirrrrr' when running and not 'thumpy, thumpy' like the cheapies. I tried those and had an over 50% failure rate. I try to find a spot near the tank to mount them as it's easier to push the fuel than to suck it. :)

I have had no problems with the Carbole solid state pumps, they cost a bit more than the round "Thumper" pumps but are well worth it in my opinion.

@Ed Kennell  have also  added a single green LED , bulb to my dash to  verify  pumps operation , years in , very quiet , solid  operation , regularly do a series of operational  checks / verifications to any experiment  I  try, basically  TWEEKING  any point  of  issue ,. linkages  are  king for me , how tiny ENHANCEMENTS , can make a train wreck , into a  seamless function . enjoy your  A/C . pete
