Sparky-(Admin) 25,684 #1 Posted yesterday at 05:35 PM I had a small shopping list for this years show. Already had an 867 coming from Jim, so didn’t have to shop the show for a short frame start/gen machine, but was also on the lookout for a C-81. Not a super desirable model but I really wanted one. Last year there were no C-81’s for sale. Found this one on Thursday morning. It’s a 1978 and its in real nice shape! The story is that it was a Phil Bowling (I hope I got his name right!) tractor and after he passed it ended up in someone else’s hands. And this year it went up for sale to reduce someone’s collection. Grabbed a show shirt, 8 speed drive belt and a pair of rear wheels/tires…and that’s it. 6 1

If the SG fails take it out of 'Fish"s hide. I mighta forgot to tell you the engine on it is a service motor I had on a 875. Prolly wouldn't hurt to change the break in oil and re-torgue the head after a couple hours. Edited 23 hours ago by WHX?? 1 1

Jrblanke 966 #9 Posted 18 hours ago Nice score on the C81! Funny enough, yesterday while I was at the show, my dad let me know that one of his friends had a C81 that he wanted to get rid of. I wasn't too keen on it, but after seeing your post, and seeing van work on his B80, it might a be a fun project to pick up. Great talking with you and your son on Friday! Maybe he will have to get a rooster tattoo! 1
Pullstart 70,208 #10 Posted 18 hours ago @phil bowling was an amazing soul @Sparky. I’m glad for you to have one of his machines, he took great care of them! I believe his name should also be green, he is a member at rest 1

Pullstart 70,208 #12 Posted 2 hours ago I’m unloaded now, shy of checking out of Hotel Norman. In honor of @elcamino/wheelhorse calling me the flip flop kid, I did it with the flippy flops on! I scored a sweet front deck carrier frame from @c-series don, mine is pretty twisted up and this will be put to use. I also got some cool old tires for a 953 from @stevebo @pfrederi dropped off a couple engines to my tent and wouldn’t take a dime for them. As always Paul, you amaze me! Somebody cruised by my tent and tossed me this new key chain. I forget who, it was quick! @8ntruck Bill I grabbed that muffler from Uncle Jim for ya!
peter lena 9,913 #13 Posted 1 hour ago @Sparky that is sweet ! dare I say it ? a penetrating oil on that would enhance the finish , its so simple easy , let it sit in the sun to enhance absorption. just do the red on the hood , let it sit days , thats the patina opportunity , all , clean cloth , mineral oil rub down , no scratch pads , depending on pull out , next used , 6" electric palm buffer , cleaner wax . also been using valvoline VR1 , 10-30 , for flat tappet engines , extra zinc , like a wake up call , engine operational running ease , is sick , lucky you , enjoy it . pete
