How many shows do you attend?

  Got me thinking when I saw @ebinmaine post that he and Trina weren’t doing any shows this year and that Jim’s @JCM meet/greet was the only activity they are planning to attend.

  I love shows, hanging out with like minded people, possibly buying tractor related things or maybe even a tractor! It’s pretty much myself, Wallfish (John), Retired Wrencher (Gary), Docwheelhorse (Tony) and my son Brad so we have a nice little gang. We all have tractors and we cruise the grounds on em. Always drive to the food trucks/stands and park em in a row like bikers outside a bar 
  I hate when my job gets in the way and I have to miss a show. 
  The Wheel Horse Show is the farthest one I go to. But I do travel up into Massachusetts. 
  I hit 7 local shows, one meet/greet and the WHS each year. There’s more shows available kinda close by, but with work and all it’s tough. I do plan to hit way more than 7 once I’m retired. At least that’s my plan right now.

  How many shows do you guys managed to hit in a year??

We normally do two a year.

Owl's Head Transportation Museum. Either the truck show in July or the aviation show in early August. This year we are attending the aviation show but not bringing any tractors due to lack of time.

The other one of course is @JCM Jim's in North Berwick Maine in September.

 

There are others I would like to try to get to eventually. But right now we just have too many other things going on with our daily existence.

Big show is a must every year since 2009. For some reason or another the other local shows are always a conflict for me. I would like to get to a few of the local ones. Of course I have my small meet and greet as well in the fall.

Sparky is knee deep in shows and there is nothing around here until late July. 

 

First show for me is the Big One then the gas engine show in Marion NY in July, The NYSEA Steam Pageant in Canandaigua NY in August and the Western NY Steam Engine Assoc Annual Rally in Sept.

The Big Show, and a couple steam and gas shows local. 

I really wanted to go west this year into Indiana and Ohio but I can't see it happening.

I'd love to know when that is. Been a couple times. Really enjoyed it. Can't take tractors down this year but we would make the pilgrimage if I could squeeze a day out of work.

The number of shows has dwindled since 2009. I used to attend the Little Guys show, Olde Tyme Days, Steam-O-Rama, Mason-Dixon Historical Society Steam show, and of course the WHCC (Big Show). But the Little Guys combined with Steam-O-Rama and gets rain each year, Olde Tyme Days falls on the Big Show weekend lately, and M-D Steam show usually falls on my vacation week. So the short answer now is one show. WHCC Show.

  The shows I attended;

  Bob Rentzels Little Guys show is gone, 

The Dover Olde Tyme Days is an auction and tractor pull.

The Steam-O-Rama Spring Fling was a plant auction this year

. Fawn Grove Olde Tyme Days is decent. 

The Steam-O-Rama fall show is still good..

The newer (5th year) Hershel Park Show Is growing and a nice show with level shady grounds.

And the Great WHCC show.

I hit the Nittany Antique Machinery Show in May and September, I try and get the Cumberland Valley Antique Engine Association show in April and August, but April hasn't worked the last two years. The WHCC show is non negotiable lol

 

I'd like to hit the Williams Grove show in October, but I'm always hunting deer. I miss all the fall shows because I'm hunting deer haha

 

I went to the Loyalsock Valley Show before they moved, but I like that one and would like to try to get to that one again.
