C-125 Black Hood

Recommended Posts

SylvanLakeWH

Today's progress:

1. New fuel line and filter. @WHX?? please inspect for correct installation...

2. Added spring to pto rattler per @peter lena's suggestion. Works like a charm!!! And... NO grease involved!!! Thanks Greasy Springy Pete! :handgestures-thumbupright:

3. Added my own "love" to the shifter boot. Might be the wrong color but it actually works perfectly and it cost nothing - I borrowed it from Denali. He was not amused...

4. Second and final coat of penetrol. Other than the wheels, which I'll tackle next, it looks like it's gonna look... :scared-eek:

All for now!

@SylvanLakeWH   glad you tried that ! put my spring on that hitch pin clip loop , right there , but same result !  been oiling  my horse paint for years , think the retention of an oiled patina look  is the perfect fit , and it retains paint . the paint that  shows  a deeper  shine , I  buff out with  a 6" electric palm buffer and cleaner wax , like this. only thing I use on them now is a light  oil  rub down , good talking , pete

Tonight's episode:

Added spots to the front. This will be my back up snow unit, so I'm going to make it very bright.

Ran into the old black hood hinge ground problem. Took an old battery cable and grounded the whole hood. Works like a charm.

Amber led strobes for side and red led tail lights are next.

Today's progress:

Added HF winch to the front end.

Has both wireless and wired controls. I'm thinking wired with quick disconnect for this tractor and using the wireless controller as a remote safety "kill switch" for the A-60 when the Littles are driving... :eusa-think: Thoughts?

So I'm thinking...

I want to add or have ability to add:

Single bottom plow

york rake

back blade

I'm looking at a sleeve hitch adapter for the 2" hitch that pivots, allowing adjustment up and down. Would utilize the winch mounted above to move implement up/down.

Thoughts?

There ... fixed that ... :laughing-rolling:

What was your source on that receiver that mounted to the muley?

That winch is t's  on a ritz too. Did it come on the receiver mount?

I could use one of those for a sxs ... :text-link: ?? HF??

We like any fabrication project!

Take care to keep the "pull point" just below the rear axle. This will help keep the front wheels on the ground under load.

There is a reason the hitch pin is so low on the transmission. Any higher would make the front jump anytime you pull more static load than the weight of the tractor.

Amazon for the front mount.

HF for both winch and plate.

Thx!

Yes if I pull this off I will need to drop the tow point several inches... appreciate the advice!!!

More work on the rear lift today. Proof of concept works. Need a dead stop at bottom and top. Any thoughts welcome. @Pullstart @Achto @WHX?? @ebinmaine @kpinnc

Idea is to accommodate back blade, York rake, dethatcher and single bottom plow. Oh, and have winch available for other uses... Pins on / off easy peasy...

The plow geometry should do that for you.  No need to add one.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

Ok

Kinda stopped now until I get the implements...

I'll work on wire and controller routing...

So, with each implement there is likely to be a different dead bottom... I'll just need to determine that with each implement and set it up...

May bring the tractor with me when I pick up my goodies in a couple weeks... utilize your expertise in setting things up...

No need for a bottom stop.

A pin through this hole would make a top stop.

Spent a few hours at @Pullstart acres getting some needed plow advice, fitment and other worldly advice...

New to me Brinly plow, imported by Pullstart from @WHX??'s Wisconsin compound (thx Jim!). Hitch customized by me initially, with welding assist by Kevin...

Hitch now functions for a back blade, York rake and the Brinly. Some fine tuning remains, and gonna need a bunch of weight up front :scared-eek:, but I'm very pleased with how it turned out...

Great Mexican place in town for lunch!!!

That's the @Pullstart signature move, he can move even faster if the slag gets into his boot.           :ychain:

My feet are used to that, but my right ear has been a slag magnet lately!  Maybe the plate in my head shifted or something!  It’s quite a sensation to hear the singes of ear hairs running down the chute!  :scared-eek:
