Electro 12 w/Sundstrand Bypass Valve

Recommended Posts

bobromanko

I'm a relatively new owner of a 1968 Electro 12. Unfortunately, the previous owner removed the hydraulics. It was great the first few days I ran it, then it started leaking transmission fluid. I suspected pressure in the case, so I checked to see if he removed the bypass valve. There was just a bolt and a spring, but no apparent valve. Looking in the manual, I don't see a good pic. Would someone please share a pic of the part(s) to be removed when the hydraulics aren't on the unit? Thanks...

This photo is NOT what is in the Charger 12.  You need to look at schematics of Sundstrand Hydrogear model 90-2046. hyd 90-2046 CHG 12.xlsx

The transmission still works, but it is leaking in multiple areas. That's what makes me believe it may be pressurizing. It was bone dry. I'll give everything a complete cleaning and see where I can isolate the origin(s). In the exploded parts list from @gt14rider, is what I should have removed part #16? All I found in there was a spring that I removed.
