Mule drive belt and deck bearing bit the dust

Recommended Posts

My sister's husband was mowing and he came in and said the mower broke. The mule drive belt was chewed up and the center deck pulley bent and it wobbled a lot. The bearing is shot. I need to get a pulley, bearing, and mule drive belt. It's a 520-HC with a 48 inch side discharge deck. What's the part number for the pulley and bearing and what size is the belt?

ooops--  The MULE drive belt is #94-2501 (former 102742)

--- NOT 1594 (spindle belt)---

BEARNG is #109966 (2)

Double PULLEY is #110147

I bet you can find them on Ebay for MUCH lower than dealer price.

If you can find a " good Toro dealer, " I think the center pulley and complete spindle comes as a kit.

Here is the bearing # 109966---buy TWO of them at $8 bux each.  Ebay itme # 266571725752

Stens aftermarket drive belt # 94-2501 (was 102742)  Ebay item # 156109170097  $27 bux

Genuine TORO Belt # 94-2501... Ebay item :226066706608 $50 bux

ps... I've found the Aftermarket belts don't hold up very long and will ALWAYS get the OEM belt. (but that's just me)

Looks like the spindle is worn down to 9/16 and the upper bearing was dry and worn :scared-eek:

That shaft is JUNK.  OEM part # 112674.  Ebay item 285386499694---  $73.

Also found a complete spindle assembly, with pulley for $74 on Ebay--used-- but looks good. 166713850572---but the PULLEY is for left or right side---NOT the center pulley you need.

Got the spindle installed from @Ed Kennell and the new pulley installed. Also greased everything up, sharpened the blades, and changed the oil and filter. Mower deck installed and I can hardly tell the difference when I engage the deck, much quieter. :handgestures-thumbupright: Mows great and cuts evenly :music-rockout:
