Ok, ID # 2110k801 11589. What years is that? I’m searching for a wiring diagram. The wiring is all messed up, disconnected from the key and the solenoid. The voltage regulator is missing. Where is that supposed to go? I got the tractor, a 48” snowplow, a grader blade and a 36” deck for $350… I guess I paid what it was worth.

Dude that was sheer theft!

The grader blade ALONE is worth what you paid for the entire pile!!

No voltage regulator WH went cheap has a 3 amp unregulated system  AC headlights work only when engine is running.

Ok, I wasn’t sure what the grader blade was worth. I think the grader blades are scarce. Good!!😀

Ok, weird! Is it in the engine? Is in around the flywheel?

All runs off the stator one leg has a diode to convert Stator AC to DC it feeds the battery via ignition switch.   The other leg AC goes to the headlights.  Voltage varies some based on engine RPM you will see the light get dimmer at idle and stop when you turn it off

Yeah. You figure around here the grader is worth 300, 350. The plow is maybe 150, 200.

I haven’t seen a grader around here for less than 300 and right now being winter the price on snow plows are through the roof too. He definitely got a steal!

He's saying there is no VR. Isn't suppose to be.

Yes, it's under the flywheel

That was giving me a headache. That little gizmo in the red circle is the diode @pfrederimentioned in the post above. It will appear a just a small bump in one of the 2 wires coming from the stator. Chances are, the diode will not be under the flywheel.

@Gregor Yes! A saw that diode, I will feel for a small bump. This seems like a challenge ( which I’m up for!😀). The VR is in the engine, so what’s coming from those wires (outside the motor) are DC?

There is NO VR.  The stator is under the flywheel. The wires coming from the stator are AC voltage. What exactly are you trying to do?

Ok, I’m trying to wrap my head around this…  so the headlights are AC?

Yes, just like the lights in your house (except lower voltage).

Yes. They will get brighter and dimmer with engine RPM. The other wire, with the diode, DC voltage, goes to charging the battery.

@953 nutis quicker than me. But I'm older.

Thank you guy so much for helping me! I think I’m gonna have to listen to AC/DC in the garage, since I’ll be playing with AC wires and DC wires!😂 How many volts are the headlights? I was thinking the headlights must be low amperage cause of the tiny wire!

I assume they are 12 V bulbs, but someone else would have to verify that. You're getting above my pay grade on this one.

They are the same bulbs used in other WHs about 35 watt I believe.  12 volt bulbs however the voltage they are fed goes up and down some based on engine speed..  You cannot directly replace them with LEDS  (they want DC current)  you have to rewire and feed LEDS from the battery or Acc terminal.  You may experience flickering.

Incandescent and LEDs are different animals entirely.
