I've wanted one of these Bull nose trucks for a looooonng time. I've also wanted to build a particularly strong inline six 300 for a looooonng time. It's been setting around unused collecting dust too long. Time to ask others for help.
SylvanLakeWH 31,365 #77 Posted May 16 So this is the thing that's been blocking access to Colossus??? Glad you finally figured it out...
Sparky-(Admin) 25,263 #78 Posted May 16 Yep, let a pro handle the rear end and whatever else. Get it roadworthy and start enjoying it! 1

They sit parallel to each other inside the barn. 57 minutes ago, Sparky said: Yep, let a pro handle the rear end and whatever else. Get it roadworthy and start enjoying it! Exactly! I dunno if it'll happen but I'd really like to see this truck pull a trailer to @JCM 's event in September. If it has a bed by then I'll toss a tractor or two up there. Six in the trailer. 1
Sparky-(Admin) 25,263 #80 Posted May 16 And give the Honda Pilot a break. I know it tows that huge trailer and all but the truck would better suited

I know it tows that huge trailer and all but the truck would better suited Definitely agreed. The Pilot is rated for 4500 total. We've had it right around that several times and it does very well. The F250 on the other hand... Depends on which towing chart you look at. Some factory charts indicate that truck can tow nearly 7,000 lbs. If modified on the aftermarket by a professional builder they can easily pull a 12,000 lb trailer. This particular truck has done just that with the previous owner. Maybe I need a WAY bigger trailer 🤔 Edited 12 hours ago by ebinmaine

ebinmaine 78,775 #83 Posted Monday at 09:36 PM Stopped to see the potential repair guy about my truck on the way home. ... It went really well. I need to get my truck ready to be towed down there Tuesday or Wednesday of next week so he can look at it late week.... Knock on wood. I hope this all works out. I told him what I was up to, and he seemed like he was kind of already on the same page before I even defined anything. Once we get the rear axle issue figured all out, he's going to give the rest of the truck a check over to see what kind of inspection issues and needed repairs we come up with.

ebinmaine 78,775 #86 Posted Monday at 11:00 PM All cleaned out. Next step is to pull the whole thing backwards a few feet for better front half access and get the rollers out. Reinstall the air cleaner and try to start it.
ebinmaine 78,775 #87 Posted 9 hours ago Working on the pre repair shop to-do list this morning. Bleach seat. Seal up the roof lights so it can sit outside. Put axles in pile. Check that tote for other parts. Check and count all bearings. Re-read Redsquare thread to recall all axle information. Install battery and hold down. CHANGE ENGINE OIL. ebinmaine 78,775 #88 Posted 7 hours ago Got some great scrubbing done on the doors, dash, roof and seat. Didn't do the floor because I'll likely replace it.

ebinmaine 78,775 #90 Posted 6 hours ago LOVE the old stuff. I'll be adding to the "old look" too by deleting the plastic trim around the cab interior. I like the bare painted metal.
peter lena 9,877 #91 Posted 4 hours ago @ebinmaine nice pick up on that , literally , opportunity for a creeping lubrication soak down , highest available access point to any closed area , tailgate , doors , cab to body areas , days out will show you tracking , what's. effective , what needs improvement . inside upper tailgate access , is a lubricant line showing itself days out with related film . like a lighter oil first , for tracking , then open gear and cable spray follow up . creeping on the lighter oil . napa , macks , cable oil is a good buy . would personally go over that paint with penetrant / then mineral oil , will clean up to an always slick looking finish , get the wheel wells first , or go to home depot parking lot for rust reference ! remember ford frames , have punched in holes ? they hold onto moisture , insuring rot . try a paint spot , related seaming , you just saved that area , good luck with it , oily pete
