SWAG table for portable bandsaws.

Recommended Posts

ebinmaine

A few weeks ago I had a tryout session with a portable bandsaw.

@OldWorkHorse had brought his around to help when we were beginning the build on my trailer hitch mounted mini crane.

I loved it so much I went out and bought my very own bandsaw.

A similar thing happened with the table for it.

I was delivering to a customer who has his own workshop in which there's a portable bandsaw mounted to a SWAG table.

Well.

I loved it so much I went and bought me one.

They arrive plain steel if you like so I had my local paint department throw some paint on it.

Nice bright lime green.

I'll get it all bolted together and post more pics later.

Looks very nice. I might go with some wheel horse red. Seems to match the saw well and I got about 100 extra cans of it haha

A band-saw is a tool I use so often. We have a big professional one. But the power off these portables have gone up the past years and for sure can keep up with our big boy.

If you need to do any fabrication-> band-saw. so much nicer cuts then a angle grinder or so.

For sure wanne see that stand assembled

I went to their website and much to my surprise they have an adaptor plate that allow a Bauer band saw to mount up. My memory is likely playing tricks on me but it seems to me that I actually used a mount that accepts a bandsaw to pivot and operate like a miter saw. Has anyone seen one? :)

If I had a greater need for one I'd opt for the pipe vise swing arm for my Port-a-band.

Ok ok ok ok ok ok ok......

@Shynon. Nice mounting stand there.

My intention is to put this one one a set of legs that once belonged to a standup bandsaw we got from @wallfish a few years back.

Perhaps that's one of those newfangled high-strength cardboard tubes?
