I am just about fed up with the routing that they take to deliver something to you. I had a package come out from California to Tennessee that took three days yet l  had a package that was 200 miles away from me has still not gotten here in five days and had to go north to St. Louis then over to Indianapolis before even thinking about coming Nashville!! BTW its still not here!

TUUL CRIB, recently had a similar  experience , in todays world many items purchased go thru an assortment of vendors , add time and often zero feedback on order status . I complained and they barely seamed to care . after I finally received the order  , sent them back a very poor rating on their service. they were very quick to respond to that ! left the poor rating on their site information , do a lot of on line purchases , and am quick to thank sites that get it done . also have a lot of related shipping cost info , which helps me get the best buy, pete

I have one better about a letter ( invoice ). Dr's office mailed  my wife an invoice on 3-15-2021 we received yesterday 4-12-2021. The Dr.'s office is 6 miles from us.  Accountant called the wife today "when are you going to pay invoice ? " , wife replied I just got it yesterday. They went back and forth you a while , finally accountant "could mail by end of month? " hope they get it by 5-15-2021.

I just don't think that the US PS is doing enough to fix this problem. Then they keep raising the rates every other year so there has to be an end to this somewhere!

I have a client who works for the Postal Service. She said that the issue is there are many workers out after Covid exposure or with Covid. This puts a lot of pressure on the remaining workers to compensate for the routes. She said after they finish their own route, they are often asked to deliver a coworker’s route after hours. Additionally, they’ve had to work weekends to cover workers who are out on quarantine.

I was very curious about the slow downs and wondered if there had been a change in processes or resources available to get the deliveries done. However, it seems it’s just a manpower problem.

I live right in the middle of Missouri.  A few months ago I mailed something to my brother in Illinois.  USPS sent it to Kansas City first. I don't think anyone there did well in Geography class.

A few  years ago I ordered something and tracking showed UPS was a few days ahead of schedule. Suddenly it started heading back to the place of origin and eventually arrived on the originally predicted date.   I swear someone caught that and was afraid of setting expectations too high so they re-routed it.

I live 8 miles from interstate 90 in NY directly between Rochester and Syracuse. I get a tracking number and watch my package ping pong back and forth between these 2 fine cities for a week until somebody decides to throw it out the window as they drive by Exit 41.   (Or stop at the casino) :naughty:

I mailed a musical  Easter card to my 1 1/2 yo grand nephew about 10 days before Easter.    I put two $.55 cent stamps on cause it was a little thicker than a regular card.

It showed up in my mailbox  today stamped  with a insufficent postage ....$2.90 more required.   That's $4.00 to mail an Easter card that had to go 10 mile.    They also used a ball point pen to destroy the existing stamps on the envelope.        Took nearly 4 weeks to make the return trip.      :angry-screaming:

The last day‘s we ordered some goods from about 3Valley‘s down the Road,

i read it too late it was just a short jump in the Car.

it tooks 3 Weeks until it arrives, so not a Problem on US PS allone i think.

depends on some things,

here also some delivery companies work with franchise worker.

depending on their work ethic you get your goods sooner or later.

the good thing is, i allway‘s got my ordered goods until now !

Today this was delivered by the USPS, I was very lucky that all the small parts were still in there.  Some of the blame should be directed to the poor packaging.

Package delivery emails are the latest scam going around. Though they look official they are an attempt to get into your bank/credit card and rob you blind.   We all know the USPS is muck too busy mutilating packages to send out emails!       :scared-eek:

I know you knew better than to click a link in an unknown email but many people are driven by curiosity.

It needs to be repeated ... NEVER click on a link in an email from an unknown sender!

Curiosity killed the computer!

Answer to Who owns the USPS.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is an "independent establishment of the executive branch" of the United States Government (see 39 U.S.C. § 201) responsible for providing postal service in the United States. Within the United States, it is generally referred to as "the post office."

The USPS is often mistaken for a government-owned corporation (e.g. Amtrak), but as noted above is legally defined as an "independent establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States,"[cite this quote] as it is wholly owned by the government and controlled by the Presidential appointees and the Postmaster General. As a quasi-governmental agency, it has many special privileges, including sovereign immunity, eminent domain powers, powers to negotiate postal treaties with foreign nations, and an exclusive legal right to deliver first-class and third-class mail.
