ChrisHarkin 1 #1 Posted December 20, 2020 Will the wire harness part number 5445 fit my Wheelhorse tractor Unit's Model Number1-0110 Name of UnitCommando 800 Year 1972
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,474 #2 Posted December 20, 2020 You should have a Bendix starter and charging stator in the engine using a electronic voltage regulator so no it will not fit. The 5445 harness is for models using a combination starter/generator with mechanical voltage regulator. What is wrong with the wiring harness you have? It is not that complicated. ChrisHarkin 1 #4 Posted December 21, 2020 Thanks for replying I have just bought the tractor and most of the wiring was missing the chap was jump starting it. Its a struggle to find technical information and parts in the UK but having only just purchased will probably learn how to get parts and help ! Obviously Red Square will be a great help. Should be able to wire in accordance with the drawing and will test my ignition switch. Thanks for your Help Chris

953 nut 59,928 #6 Posted December 21, 2020 There are several European members here who can be of assistance with parts sources. @Stormin, @meadowfield, @Tractorhead are a few that may chime in when you are in need of help.

Tractorhead 9,209 #9 Posted December 21, 2020 First to When your Engine runs without Battery, you have a Magneto Ignition. So that is simple to get it back in Service. Can you shutdown the Engine with the Key? than you have 50% of functionality. The rest can be built simple if you be able to Crimp Wires. The Harness for a Basic Setup isn‘t that complicated and sounds stronger that it is. i guess @953 nut have a good and simple Schematic, that clears most of the Wire paths. If it‘s a Tecky Engine, on the right Side you will find a small Fusebox on the Engine the green wire in the middle is the Magneto Kill line and must go to port M (Mag) on Ignition Switch That must be switche to ground to stop the Engine and be float while engine runns. it shall never see +12 V or the Ignition coil dies immediately. The Port G(Gnd) on Keyswitch goes directly to ground and is only to stop the Magneto. The Port B (Batt) from Keyswitch goes directly to Battery with a 25A Fuse as close to the Battery as possible. The Port A (Acc)from Keyswitch routes to Headlights if you tracta have.i would provide this line with a 10 A Fuse also. The Port I (Ign) is connected to the White line ( charger or better regulator output)with a inline Fuse depending on charging Capability. with 15A charger coil it shall be a 15A Fuse.( on tecky engine this fuse exists on the Diodeplate. seen on the pict the upper white is the Fuse. both sides left and right are diodes, they must be set in right direction, otherwise no charging will happen. The Port S(Start) is routed to the Solenoid line, the other solenoid line goes directly to a good ground. Check please, that the Engine and Frame have the same Ground, if not mount a Wire between them and clean the Ground connections to bare metal. at Least a Battery Gnd Wire that should be best mounted on the Engine, where the Starter is. dimensions i choose.. for Switched Wires 2,5 sqmm - charging and all Switched lines incl. solenoid switch lines. for Starter Cables 25 sqmm. - from Battery to Solenoid high power terminal1 from solenoid Terminal2 to Starter Ground to Engine 25 sqmm - from Battery to Engine and to Frame. i hope that helps.
