The demystification guide for the 1995 is a bit confusing for that year since it serves both the 8 speed and the hydro. So if it were me, I'd start with the basics. Disconnect the wires from the switch and connect your meter. Depress the clutch and see if the meter shows that the switch is closed. If so, the switch is okay. If not, you have a bad switch. Some 416-8 models have the wires on the switch going from your 12 volt source (ignition switch) directly to the starter solenoid, other have it going to the starter relay. Reconnect the wires and find out where yours goes.  See if there is continuity from the switch to that point.

The reason why the Fridgi switch does not close unless fully depressed is because you do not want you evaporator fan(s) to come on unless the door is fully closed. If they come on with hot humid air coming thru a door gasket that isn't sealed you will have warm milk and a block of ice on the coil in the morning. 

 

Wondering if you could rig something on the arm to push the switch rocker all the way or move the switch out.

Personally,  I like the "down at the clutch pedal" switch idea. Keeps it simple, like it should be.

Sorry you are having so much trouble with the clutch switch.  I only suggested using that fridge switch because I saw it on here.  I have not personally used it.  Bill

I had seen that post myself and was thinking about it before you mentioned it.  Hey, you're the one who noticed my mistake.  That's two thumbs up in my book.
