Today Libby and me went for a putt with our riding gang, er group.

They’re very thirsty guys so we always meet at J&J’s Tavern/ The Harrisburg Country Club. Then off to The Getaway, next Tamarack Marina on High Rock Lake, next Gold Hill Village for a stop at Flynn’s Village Grill.

Gold Hill was a gold mining village, and in its heyday was bigger than Charlotte during that time period.

Supposedly saloons and brothels made up the majority of businesses in the village by far. Nice little ride. Logged 133.5 miles.

Hopefully within just the next few weeks here we are going to be getting concrete poured in the left side shed area of the barn. In preparation for that, Trina and her mom moved this wood:

IMG_20240414_192959.jpg.644ae26618d98c3f23500133fec7c425.jpg

Off of this table:

and over to the right  side shed roof area.

That leaves us with a few implements, log splitter, backhoe, and a scrap pile to get out of there. Not too bad.

We had trouble with our absorption chiller over the weekend. Water was getting too hot . 230 when it should have been 195. Yesterday I found the expansion tank was flooded. Then we tested the steam heat exchanger and saw it was leaking. Pulled the bundle today. This is about 10 feet long and close to 2 ft in diameter. Found tubes collapsed and and 1 split. There may be more hidden inside. This thing was installed 4 years ago. I have a feeling the expansion tank was shot then and it took out this bundle. We used an engine crane and a Genie lift to get it out.

Took a ride to check my trail cam.

This was taking too long so I stopped about half way to my deer stand and trail cam.

If it had rows of nails in it, I would order one so Mrs. @squonk could him in line keep with her rules and regulations.

Thanks Richie.

We're REALLY looking forward to our nice new workshop.

The front side will be "all door" so to speak.

We want the while front to open.

The rear... Mostly wall. .. maybe a full glass storm door?

Likely some recycled windows for the sides....??

That will be nice. Getting ready to build my second 12x12 building. After that it will be a 14’x 36’ concrete slab in front of them both. Slowly getting there. Will be a mirror image of this.

I paid $50 each for 15 used sliding doors  from a nursing home that was changing a large sun room to private rooms.    Built this sun room on the rear of my house and made a profit on the 10 that were left over.

That looks cool, but what‘s it for?

Spank your son's rear when he finishes your last beer?

Or Hit on the fingers, if someone was unwanted touching your Wheelhorse?

Drove to Houston last Tuesday to meet the local high school robotics team that I mentor  at the 2024 world championship competition.  Both our upper class team and under class teams qualified to attend the world championships, so we took both teams.

The world championships are run with 8 divisions (running matches simultaneously on 8 fields in the giant convention center in downtown Houston), with each division having about 75 teams.  There were somewhere around 600 teams there this year, representing 6 different countries and about 47 states.

Wednesday was practice day, and qualification matches were run on Thursday and Friday.  On Saturday, 8 four team alliances were chosen to compete in the double elimination playoffs.  The winning alliance from each division then compete for the world title in another double elimination bracket.

Our under class team ended up as a member of the #7 seated alliance.  They made it all the way to the into the final round.  Unfortunately, they lost there.  However, they still had a great season, ending up rated  #41 worldwide, based on scoring potential.  There are about 3500 active teams worldwide this year.

Our upper class team ended up on the #3 seated alliance team in their division.   They ended up winning their division, advancing them into the playoffs for the world finals.

In the world finals, they were dropped into the lower bracket in the 4th round.   They won the 5th round, placing them in the best of 3 matches world finals!

WE WON THE WORLD FINALS IN 2 MATCHES!

The team captain was the district champion from Isreal. We were the second team on the alliance, hailing from Sedalia, Mo.  The third team was from Philadelphia, and the fourth team was a rookie team from Phoenix.

Winning the F.I.R.S.T. Robotics world championship was about the last of my thoughts when I rolled out of bed yesterday morning.

Took a break from wrenching on the tractors today and started a little welding project. A friend of mine bought this bale mover a while back to feed their horses, he didn’t have any issues with the hand crank winch but his wife had trouble cranking it if she had to feed while he was out on the road so we are removing the old hand winch and replacing it with an electric unit. Gonna check and repack the wheel bearings, replace the old tire on the LH side, and repaint it while we’ve got it in the shop. 147_0237.jpeg.51ebfa991bf404dba99c835b1642c2a3.jpeg147_0246.jpeg.a8a89abef73a8860789e756c2e22ad4d.jpeg147_0249.jpeg.303aefd2bd116b6a1f7c5807b6e3dbc5.jpeg147_0251.jpeg.1285eeba4fb3dd32c97ad20cd5883aea.jpegIMG_2011.jpeg.96ecd8f2acf6509a36bff0eaa372720f.jpegIMG_2023.jpeg.1ea879602bb4a79f8883dce1936e01d7.jpegIMG_2032.jpeg.8c206f9bbf93eeda5c9e83262959b036.jpeg

Gotta brag on my old welding machine a bit too, it’s a 1979 Miller AEAD-200LE, fires right up every time I need to use it, and is one of the smoothest running machines I’ve ever welded with. I’d put it head to head with any new machine any day of the week. And before anyone cracks any 6.0 PowerStroke jokes  The hood on the truck was only open to jumpstart the welder 147_0252.jpeg.8e7202300c22c76a0c7324d03f5a23d0.jpeg147_0253.jpeg.7681a260398a56d6d61bba829cbfcc10.jpeg

It just looks cool on a shelf but could be used for all of the above if needed. :handgestures-thumbupright:

Trina spent a few hours rebuilding and transplanting the upper part of the rock garden that surrounds the "circle" in the backyahd.

Are they very small boat paddles?

I'm sure my yoga teacher would have one, she's always going on about my tushie being too high or too low or some such.
