It’s always something, but at least it’s in the driveway!  I was just about to take a 1/2 mile shake down cruise and I see the fuel pump blasting spurts out!

I've been reading a lot about this and many other things for my own old truck.

Fuel pumps have a fairly high failure rate.

I'm seriously considering changing my truck to a Facet brand electric pump and adding the inertia switch that a later model vehicle would use for cutting off the fuel pump after a crash.

I've driven hundreds of vehicles over the years but I don't recall ever driving one.

Owned a couple that weren't registered and rode in a few.

Neat throwback.

The first one I drove was an early '60s Ford Econoline that started its life as a Bell Telephone service van. Straight 6 between the front seats. Not a hotrod or muscle car but I kinda wish I still had that one. I also had a '48 chevy pickup in my early years and had to double clutch. Glad I learned that skill as well since I occasionally drive a KW T-800 and sometimes need to.

Film splicing 101, not engineering classes. You are wasting your time if you are looking for an honest commercial.

We took a drive tonight.  Mrs. P drove it like she parked it yesterday!

Things it needs yet:

Throttle adjustment.  The hydroboost seems to be enough of a drag at idle, it’ll stall if you spike the brakes hard enough.

Wiper motor, wipers

I have another motor.  I just need to swap it in.

Windshield

its a little cracked, all over.

But the drive didn’t happen without a little leak first.  The cooler I stuck on may have been restrictive.  It blew the input line out and sprayed down the whole shop!

I added a new cooler and high pressure hose.
