Looks like it may have been a Checker cab? At least the front & rear ends were.

Can't say that I've ever seen one stretched out like that before. And you found a picture of another one? Wonder if that was done by a conversion or limo company?

It looks like it’s called the Aerobus.  This blue one is about 15 minutes from my house.  We drove by it around dusk a few nights ago and I claimed it to be an 8 door Suburban.  I’m just glad it really is an 8 door!

Around here these were the common "airport limosine/shuttle" vehicles until the Ford E-series vans took over.

twice as long and 3 people less capacity than a “15 passenger”.  Sounds like a hunk of junk.  I’ll take two!  We’ll make the bus a double decker checker hauler!

Well it ain’t no muscle car but it is a little hot rod. I sold my chevy pickup to my son in law last month as I needed something lighter on the wallet gaswise. I picked up this HHR SS and so far I love it. It’s like driving a go cart. Pretty quick little booger for what it is. I call it “the coffin” because if I ever get into a wreck, I’ll probably have to be buried in it.

@19richie66 is that turbo charged?  I had a supercharged Cobalt SS for a while.  Neat, quick car.  Had positraction, which made steering wheel input in the snow more of a suggestion instead of a positive control input.

It is. 240hp 2.0 Ecotec turbo 4 cyl. Mine is automatic so not as exciting as a stick shift but still quick. I love it. Great gas mileage and like driving a go cart on the road.

Here's my hot rod's, one has a top speed of about 56 mph and the other is scary at much above 55 mph!  These are both Jeeps, so we call them Little Jeep and Big Jeep!

I have that exact model little Jeep in a Tonka  truck from when I was a kid. Same color and all. It’s in my attic, but right now I’m too lazy to go take a picture of it because sitting next to my wood stove has sucked all the energy out of me!

Yup.  We've had a CJ5 and a couple of CJ7's. The CJ5 takes a light touch on the steering wheel at speed - got to wait until it decides which way it wants to go after hitting a bump before applying steering correction.

Some years ago a colleague offered me a drive in his. I was overcorrecting all over and stopped to let him drive back. He said it was an artifact of having two solid axles. I said fine, I'll stick with my four-wheel indepent suspension.

Yup.  Two solid axles, stiff springs and a short wheelbase.

 

The original Jeep was designed to top out around 45mph.

How about a muscle car before the term was popular? 64 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible, 426-S with pwr steering, pwr brakes, pwr windows & top. White with Bermuda Torquoise/powder blue interior.
