Stormin 9,975 #1 Posted October 27, 2019 Once upon a time, in the dim and distant past, I made myself a snowplough/dozer blade. The build is to be found here :- Unfortunately due to Photo****it the photo's are not very good, if viewable at all. Yesterday I thought it was about time I sorted out the non existent index mechanism. The lever I had already made. So I rescued it from it's hiding place. Also had a scrat about for things to make the other parts I needed. Some chain. A gash gate/door hook retaining eye and other bits. Not photo's taken during the process, but the following one's should be self explanatory. That much does work. Now all I have to do is find/make a lever to operate the location pin. 7

Stormin 9,975 #4 Posted November 4, 2019 Got a couple of bicycle brake levers from a scrap farm bike. Bit of a mod to were it fitted to the handle bar and connected it up. After drilling a hole through a 6mm set screw to thread the bicycle cable through. Hit a snag here. The lever not being straight fouled the handle when pulled right back. So I shortened the lever. Finally I did away with the R clip that held the chain to the location pin. Threaded the hole 6mm and secured the chain. Might throw some paint at it sometime. Also see if I can find a straight steel lever to fit. Maybe not pretty but it works and it cost me nowt. PS. Sorry about the poor quality of a couple of photo's. I need a Trina. 3 2

As for how much snow we get, the answer is very little. As in nothing to speak of. Never had enough to measure. We are low down on the Solway Plain and just a couple of miles or so from the coast. 10 metres above mean sea level. Go 10 miles inland and there can be quite a bit at times and further on up on the low fells, much more.
