Clutch Brake repair

I've got the rivets showing through on the clutch brake for my d-180. Toro says the part is NLA. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but how can I replace the friction material so I don't damage anything since I now have metal touching metal? Doesn't seem like rocket science, but I'm not sure where to start.

I know OSHA wouldn't approve,but whenever I have one worn down to the rivets,I take it off and toss it in the scrap metal can.I'm the only operator here and I know enough not to get off the tractor and stick any part of my body where they don't belong.Plus,I'm old and slow and everything is usually done spinning by the time I get off the tractor.

I got a new brake band lining from Robert Maynard who frequents on here alot. I went to his ebay page and ordered one. It came quickly. I took the band off, removed what was left of the liner material, wire wheeled the brake band down to bare metal on the inside. Instructions say to use zip ties or rubber bands, i used a small coffee can to wrap it around and pulled it tight. I used Goop brand all purpose adhesive and went in a "s" pattern with the glue. I let it set untouched for a full 2 days. It probably wouldve been fine overnight but I was busy with the family. I reinstalled it, adjusted to my satisfaction and works great !

Guys, this is just a very small “L” shaped bracket with a piece of braking material maybe an inch and a half in length and a half inch in width riveted to the outer edge. It presses up against the inside of the PTO pulley when the clutch is released to stop the spinning pulley. (and subsequently, the mower blades or snowblower auger. Gluing a new piece on makes sense. But where does one purchase a flat piece of braking material like this?

Tommy i found I had a piece.  it is 2" wide and 1/4" thick.  How long a piece would you need i can cut it off and send it to you
