75' c-120 snowblower lift assist

Recommended Posts

MadScientist

Hi all,

i am looking for a diagram on how to mount the lift assist spring on a 75' c-120. i have looked around and cannot seem to find one. i have tried to mount it on the main crossbeam located near the end of the lift rod and doesn't seem to offer any assistance. After working with that snowblower for and hour becomes quite difficult. i am also wondering if anyone has ever done an effective mounting of an electric wench as a means of lift? Thanks in advance for any help you could offer. CA-120 special model # 133619

Flag should go in the 3rd hole up in the rock shaft.  The spring will go from the tab on the flag forward to the rod that runs across the tractor that the front of the foot plates mount to.

Ok, Thank you. i have it in the bottom most hole, I will move it up two. there is an eye bolt on the flag and I assume the the other end of the spring connects there for tension adjustment?

And just as WildmanC120 said, use the 3rd hole on the rick shaft.  I was using the second one and kept shearing cotter pins

hello mad scientist, I made this up to eliminate the same problem on my 312-8 , I combined it with a chute control arm knob that I added. both of them have proven to be a great help with snow thrower use. I think that the close relation to thrower with spring lift just eliminates the issue. I used car hood springs , cheap and easy to find, taper grind end of chute control rod, use 3/8x16 die nut , knob at local hardware store. good luck with it, pete

Yes eye bolt on the flag where the hole faces forward on tractor.  You can use a 1" or the like exhaust clamp to attach the other end of the spring to that cross bar.

I was using the 2nd hole for awhile on mine and couldn't figure out why it was still so heavy.  I never realized there was a 3rd hole.  It's a bit of a pain to get the clip in it but it can be done.  I put the blower on my C-161 with hydro lift now so it makes life much easier.

Toro - WheelHorse SnowBlower fits “XT” Models.  Model 79483 Serial 240000164. In great shape, has high chute, wide kit installed and has belt.  Skids show little to no wear, so I’m guessing not used much.  SnowBlower only.  No mule drive or lifting hardware.
      $250/BRO

Lets make a deal. The whole collection for $3000 or one tractor and half the items listed below for $1500.
I am moving to town so am willing to do a partial trade for a wheelhorse more approproiate for a suburban lot- lawn ranger, surburban models, bcs walking tractor, other?
I could possibly deliver or meet half-way or ship.

Both tractors run great and are in good working order. Second owner of both machines. I work with these machines everyday so they are not perfect but are, in my opinion, in excellent shape.

Hello, I recently purchased a single stage snowblower attachment for my C-121.  Currently going through my first storm with it.   Made some passes down the driveway and blower was blowing a bit of snow backwards under the tractor.   Snow is very fine and light snow.   Wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has suggestions on remidies.
