One thing that is messed up on the tractor is the steering wheel.  Outside is almost perfect, but the center and spikes have a lot of the plastic chipped off.  I thought about removing the rest of the plastic up to the outer ring like the earlier tractors.  Don’t know whether to do this or search for a replacement.  Might place a wanted ad later on.

Check out one of our :rs:restoration guru's(Denny Clarke's) thread Dells...

some good steering wheel refurbishing info in here.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

I just looked that over Craig.  Very nice repair by the way Denny!!  My wheel is far worse.  I’ll try to get some pics if I feel like it later.

:confusion-confused:             You may be able to make a plaster mold of a good wheel, put your wheel into the mold  and use the PC 7 to build that area up.

Well, most of the damage is on the center of the wheel.  I got up long enough to snap a pic and that wore me out.  What do you guys think?

Funny thing is that the rest of the tractor is in great shape and complete.  Somebody has put a lot of stress on that wheel!

Don’t know Paul.  Poor thing had taken a bath in it before I got there. I’d hate to cover it back up.  I’m sure I paid extra for at least 50lbs of the stuff.  Little horse needed to be rescued!

I broke one of the spokes on Putt Putt’s wheel shortly after I picked it up.  It’s still broken, it might stay that way for quite some time.  The seat and the steering wheel have earned  scars over time, I can’t take them away.

Well, the steering wheel is taken care of.  Thanks @Chris G!  I’ll soak this one and try to give it a pull.  Who knows, might need it sometime down the road.

I’m home today with Emory.  He was diagnosed with flu type a yesterday.  I heard a knock on the door and opened it to find a nice surprise.  My steering wheel from @Chris G!  It looks fantastic!  Thanks Chris!  Now I’ve just got to find time to work on the little guy.  Think I’ll swap out the steering wheel, seat, and tune the motor and enjoy it for a while.  Back to daddy doctor duty😉.

Thanks Kevin.  Emory fell asleep trying to wait on me to get home from PTO last night.  He’s felt some better today.  Still droopy though.

May I suggest you trim those weight bolts?  Don’t want them getting you between the shorts and the boots!

Just haven’t had time Kevin.  Our club show starts tomorrow and I’ve done well to wash them all.  I had to go on the local tv news show yesterday and embarrass myself and everyone who knows me😂🤣😂.  We’re at Emory’s correct neurology appt today - 2 1/2 hours away again!!

That steering wheel looks more like Frank’s than Putt Putt’s by the way... I see the original one is still on :handgestures-thumbupright:

Here’s Frank’s wheel... there is heat warpage from welding the spoke back together... and I have no plans to fix it any more.

@pullstart Emory got a great report!  We’ve let him be off of his ADHD medicine for the summer and he’s gained 12+ pounds since his last dr visit.  His medicine normally curbs his appetite.  We go back in January.  Eating at Calhoun’s on the river in Knoxville now.  View from our table.
