PeacemakerJack 10,743 #28 Posted February 12, 2019 Snowmaggedon? Is it the end of the world? No. Just another day in Wisconsin during February. Kids are off school again today as we look at another 10-12” of the white stuff. @WHX21 Jim could get closer to 15” the way that the computer model looks. Roads are nasty and so is the parking lot of my favorite box store. Off to work I go—gonna get some seat time on RED tonight for sure!
WHX?? 51,720 #29 Posted February 12, 2019 We got at least 8 already and it's not letting up. Went round one on the driveway & 3/4 tank of gas with 520 #1 @ 5:00 AM... round two this PM.
stevasaurus 23,274 #30 Posted February 12, 2019 We got about 1" of snow, ice and slush. I should go out and clear it, it's in the 30's at the moment.

PeacemakerJack 10,743 #33 Posted February 12, 2019 No kidding! I’m just glad that I don’t live along the lake shore of Wisconsin tonight. Looks like the east wind will keep them in snow even longer than us. How about you Kevin @pullstart? Are you michigan boys getting this junk too?

Ed Kennell 41,814 #35 Posted February 12, 2019 It switched to rain here as the temp rose to 32.2F at noon. We got 5-6" of snow, then about 0.3" of ice this morning. I just came in from plowing the neighborhood driveways. Still no seat time in the warm cab on the 520 blower. I think it's been 3 years since I used the blower. It may be time to scrap the tall chute and put the blade on the 520.

PeacemakerJack 10,743 #37 Posted February 12, 2019 Mom and Dad are down there not far from Richie... They went to the state fair yesterday and really enjoyed it. I shared with dad what was going on here and he said, “I really feel bad that i’m Missing it!” RIGHT. I’m glad that someone is in t shirt and shorts weather anyway! On the bright side, I get to look forward to some more seat time tonight... 2

Pullstart 66,660 #39 Posted February 12, 2019 We are on the line of freezing rain and snow, there’s 4-5” in Grand Rapids, maybe 20 minutes north. 1.5-2” of slushy snow at home.
rjg854 12,168 #40 Posted February 13, 2019 Got about 6" of snow which turned to sleet, and then supposed to turn to rain over night. The wind has been howling all day 20-30 mph out of the SE. It's right about 30 degrees and the temperature is going up overnight and drop through the 20s tomorrow. Little bit of everything. But I did get a couple hour of seat time, Woo-hoo

Cetan08 311 #45 Posted February 13, 2019 Well! Here it is the 14th. of February and one day snow and the next day in the low 50's. Got my snow pusher out a couple of weeks ago and had to first change points, pulled out of the garage and after 20 ft. Had to replace fuel pump. Pulled it back in the garage and went to the house for coffee. Had maybe two hours of seat time this year. Wife had to be rerouted last night due to flooding on main roads. Everyone living in areas where this storm is reading havock, please be safe. 1

Sarge 3,465 #47 Posted February 13, 2019 This last round of weather has been interesting - to say the least. Got a few inches of snow, which was melted and turned to slush by a pretty good amount of very cold rain. Next stage was ice/freezing rain/sleet - for a good 6hrs or more. Then, more snow. We ended up with over 1/2" of ice followed by high winds last night. Lost power for almost 4hrs but back on now. Many major roads closed due to power lines being down/snapped poles. Roughly half the surrounding area lost power - many are still out with no ETA on when the repairs will be done. A constant parade of power crews coming through town - big thanks to those folks that are trying to keep us from freezing to death. Last night the temps dropped to 12*F with wind chills around -15*F and winds clocking at or near 50mph. Even many of the weather reporting stations are down due to the ice, hoping things get cleared up quickly. Haven't been out yet today - but some pics of the ice accumulation late yesterday afternoon before the high winds kicked into overdrive. Shortly after that last picture - the winds picked up very quickly and I moved the trucks well away from that old maple tree and closer to the building to shield them. Hoping it worked - going out after while to see what I have to clean up, again. Between the extreme cold and high winds this winter - going to have to blade all the branches into a pile come spring and just burn them on the spot. Probably the worst winter we've had in a lot of years as far as tree damage. For those in the East that are getting what went through here in the last 24hrs - stay safe and good luck. Pullstart 66,660 #48 Posted February 13, 2019 I snapped a couple pictures of the snowfall plowing this morning. I was listening to some Hank Williams Sr and jammin’ in the old plow truck!
