I sometimes get so lost, I don’t know if I’m making progress, making videos, taking pictures, or just fumbling a little bit.  No videos on the build of the rest of the exhaust!  I guess I just got work done!

Apparently there was an iCloud update I needed to accept the terms of, in order to get my videos out of captivity.  :hide:

Kevin, I enjoyed seeing the safety supervisor cat checking your work, if it weren't for her you probably would have needed :auto-ambulance:            :ychain:

Rooster is my buddy indeed.  She’s the only one of our cats that will hang out in the shop with me.

Kevin I have a Vanguard air cleaner that might be low profile enough to stay under the hood if you want to try it.

I know that this will go unseen, but I did manage to mark this “Rylee’s 875” and date it “2025” before welding it up.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, I’m missing some parts in the fuel pump.  I didn’t see anything extra come out when I opened it up to repair the broken nipple at the fuel line :hide:  I got a new carb/fuel pump assembly for $43 shipped.  Let’s try it out!

The good news, is unlike the common Kohler replacements, these throttle and choke levers are correctly orientated!

I do plan to dissect both carbs, to compare innards.  I might even use the choke portion of the original, it looks like it will swap over.  The screw holes for the air filter hold down are metric on the new one.

Curiosity question: What is the maximum HP that the Sunstrand will transfer compared to what that twin can put out?

I’m surely not the guy to answer such a loaded question.  I know Jeremy went through this hydro quite awesomely, and I’m not concerned much.

I know that this thread by @Skipper is an Eaton 1100.  I do believe that Sunstrands were used in skid steers and other machinery more regularly that garden tractors too.  I don’t want to sound arrogant, but the HP of this engine does not scare me as for using it at its full potential with this tractor.

@Docwheelhorse what are your thoughts on this Briggs 16 miss?  Ignition or fuel?

1/0 weld wire should help transport the magic smoke!

I ask only after recalling @Oldskool’s snow machine build where he had plenty of horses but the repurposed dual hydros from the z-turn would only transfer a fraction of the horses to the drive screws.

An example is the Eaton 700 which will transfer a max of 5-7 hp -- plenty for locomotion but insufficient for ground engagement -- (vs. the 1100 good up to, I think, 18 or 19 hp).

In your case, the only effect would be having absolute pulling power being hydro-limited vs. hp-limited and possible overheat of the hydro if pushed beyond its design limits.

Sunstrand, I know, made (and still makes) a wide range of hydro models depending on the power transfer needed.
