Yes sir one under the cam box and one under the data tag.  I feel bad I drove those poor people nuts at my local dealer.  They had to go back into there special parts bin.  Oh well we all learned alittle bit from it.

That was only 3 of the 4 tractors I hauled home...  plus a Predator engine made it’s way into the truck bed too!

Eric you need a magnifying glass with phone, It's right o the side {Briggs twin cylinder 16HP} . It's an older model because of the rope starter

I got the tires from a gentleman in New Jersey that had them on a wheel horse puller,  he already had the correct back spacing needed for the wheel horse,  I went into fully knowing I was going to have to trim the fenders,  to my surprise and shock they fit with no trimming need or spacers need,  every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut.  Now to try my hardest to get that twin 16 Briggs to fit without extending the frame.  I’m entertaining ideas I need about 3 inches with the battery in the current location,  might try to find a smaller 12v to relocate the battery to under the seat, because from what I understand the Briggs only needs a battery to start since it has a magneto,  i’m Not a Briggs guy yet so a lot of reading on my part to understand the finer details,

I like the battery under the seat idea.

I think I remember seeing one of those on Vins RJ YouTube channel a year or two back. @VinsRJ

Others here hey have done that as well.

 

Provided that the engine is kept in good tune, cranking amps on a battery can be kept at a minimum as long as you are below about 85 to 90 degrees or above about 30 to 35 degrees.

Larger gauge battery cables should be installed as well.

Ok finally was able to get the little 8hp running good enough to go around the yard for the first time.  Transmission feels strong it is fairly fast forward and really slow in reverse,  not sure if it is an adjustment or a bad spring in the reverse circuit,  that will be next on the list and apparently I cut the seal that goes on the shaft that has the cooling fan on it, she leaks pretty good.  Still wrestling with the throttle rigging and the governor,  man, good they have made that adjustment any easier. Still overall happy with the little 875.  I attempted to put the front end on a tree and give her hell, and those big tires bit and the hood started to move,  in hindsight probably should have chained it to the tree and tried to pull it down instead of trying to push it over, oh well you can’t win them all,  I guess I was just so happy that the transmission was actually working.

@Achto‘s newest build, Radpferd has a Harley Davidson battery up on a pedestal under the hood.  You might want to check that out, as it’s a bit of thinking outside the box.

We use these on mowers. 190 cranking amps. You can get them a larger.
