On our way up to the Plainfield show! Looking forward to seeing my local circle buddies and hopefully get to make a few rounds turning earth. 067AC9E5-B70E-42BA-960B-47C3C5C8B11E.jpeg.85c071d28f7e9bcaced675907d06b511.jpeg

We have Clyde (953) and dad’s newly reworked PP-10HD plow to test in the sandy soil with the new Land Wheel setup.

Also have GhostRider, The Mule, and Grizzly.

Looks like we are ready to do some plowing doesn’t it?

Uncle Roger is driving and so I can relax and post!  Usually it is me behind the steering wheel.  I’ll try to get some video and pics.  @Achto is there and so I’m sure he’ll take some pics as well as @WHX19 and @Rp.wh.  I believe all those guys are camping there and so I’m Sure they'll Have a much more in depth report of the show...

Soil conditions weren’t great despite the fact that it was sandy.  About 2-3” down it seemed like concrete.  However, it was still fun plowing with my family and friends...

Jason (first time plow dog) did very well on his vintage MF.

These were the kind that the people in the trailer, take a fresh bag of “squeaky” cheese curds, dump them into a special pancake batter, then deep fry them, and serve them hot!  That’s what I call fresh.  They don’t compare to any other cheese curds that I’ve ever had—ANYWHERE other than Wisconsin...

interesting collection of Homelite saws and lawn tractors!

Uncle Roger found a tractor that was the same vintage as him—1958!

I had never heard of Page Garden Tractors but these were made close to home in Milwaukee, WI

Nice little show...wish I could’ve stayed to see Dan pull in the Tractor Show but we had to run and take care of some other stuff this afternoon.  Can’t wait to hear the full report from Jim, Dan, and Ryan!

Hey guys! I'm sorry I wasn't on here for a long time.We couldn't remember what my password was for awhile:think: also I was busy with life in general.Today I got to go with dad to a tractor show down on Plainfield WI.I was a little hesitant to go because I had a friend hanging out with us for the week. Now I'm really glad that I went,i got to see friends and talk with them we took some tractors along so we could plow down there. We took my grandfather, and my great uncle Roger too.We took our tractors clide, grizzly, the mule and more.We got to plow down at a field but it was not as big of a field as I thought it would be:-(, but it was still fun none the less.

We plowed for about an hour or two and had lots of fun.The ground was not as Sandy as it looked. We went back to where the other tractors were on display and we talked for a little while and then loaded everything up and headed back to the house.

Here’s a video that I took of us plowing...

Not my best work but still gives you a quick glimpse of what we were doing...

Richard—it’s funny that you should say that because Caleb didn’t know that I had taken that video and while he was watching it, he exclaimed, “How did you stay in the furrow while looking and videoing all around?”

I jokingly replied, “your old dad has mad skills!”

He he looked at me with one of those expressions that only a child can give to a parent and said, “Right.”

I love being a parent—it’s full of challenges but also amazing fun times like yesterday!

I almost forgot about that Ryan. While this incident made for a great shot, it could have had a bad out come. A light front end and lots of traction lead to this great shot of Jim taking off from the line with the eliminator in tow.

From here it wasn't real pretty. All I can say is that Jim and his horse came out seemingly undamaged.

He removes the outer 2 tires  on each side for transport. They did not feel loaded when I helped him put the tires in the trailer. No visible weights hanging off of the tractor either.

Looks like fun :auto-layrubber: wish I could have been there to see it. Also I am really excited about the big BS coming up  This show just got me more excited about heading east and meeting a bunch of you.

If any of you don't know I'm getting a 854  :wh: and it will be my first round hood and I can't wait to travel with my dad and my local circle buddies out to Pennsylvania to get it:happy-bouncymulticolor:

She was a ride that's for sure! What saved me is quick thinking by me and the guys who were walking beside.  I probably shouldn't have been pulling with this tractor as it doesn't have a solid mount hitch and that's an awful lot of  stress on the lift cable & the hitch point was way too high. 2nd go round went much better after I dropped the hitch height back down and a couple of bros to push the front down at take off. Did about a 30 ft run.

Pulling was the best part of the show since it was just for fun.  There were guys pulling with their "street" tractors and tractors with decks still on and just to see what it will do. I thought Dan's ride was a bit wilder as his front end never touched the ground! At the end we disconnected the weight box from the sled  and he had another run. She was a bit squirrely to say the least!

Some other pics.... a pretty cool 551  but the guy sure did whine about how lousy the techy was and how he couldn't find parts.
