NIce! I hope that works for you. I need to make a decision about my FEL, auto has to have a foot control or I move the loader onto a 8-speed without the L/S differential and electric clutch. I don't seem to have enough hands and arms to not have a foot control for direction. Kind of hate to do that since my 165 is the tilling machine but we'll see.

I must have three hands since just yesterday I cut a new road thru the woods, hauled the rocks and stumps and then graded the highway banks.  Hours of use without issue.  Now a tiller needs a stick shift since it pushes the tractor.

I installed clutch spring with diy high performance tool and I put  new shifter boot, at this point I checked and tightened that shifter screw (changing gears is better now).

I adjusted deck too.

As I mentioned in earlier  posts I changed fuel pump (not original) to aftermarket cheap one (I got 2 spare ones and 2 new CarBole on the shelf). After a few hours pump works OK but I had to tighten the screws twice.

Right now I have some spare parts (belts, pumps, other small items) so far so good..

I installed original clutch spring but I ordered 2 more springs - 11/16" x 5 3/4"  these are shorter than original one, but recommended on the forum.

I changed the oil in my C160 today, and got the parking brake to work correctly.... just needed a simple adjustment. Then got the pressure sprayer out and cleaned up the C160 and the Craftsman PGT9000 that I use mostly for mowing because it has a 54" deck.

One of my next projects will be to look at the 36" RD mower deck to see what it needs.... hopefully just bearings..... Also need some front hub covers.

I finally got around to working on my 15-38HXL. I installed a new fuel filter (the one that came out was very dirty). I pulled the mower blades and sharpened them on the belt sander. I adjusted the mower deck's side to side, and front to back height. I used brake cleaner to remove a lot of old oil build up on the sides of the engine and rails. I replaced the hood hinge bolts, and straightened the bracket that hood mounts too. I used plastic restorer /cleaner on all the black plastic. It is very shiny now. I've ordered a new fuel solenoid kit because the existing connector is very loose and doesn't connect tightly. When I do that I'll also be installing a new float and float bowl gasket.

I really like to hear guys taking care of the often frowned on verticals. Yes it's not a vintage C-160 but still. Well maybe not frowned  on but often neglected and used as throwaways. Keep at it buddy. :thumbs2:

I blame it all some people's peer pressure about needing another plow tractor! :D

Those that have followed me at the plow days know (and smell it in the air)....it's100LL (low lead) octane aviation fuel. Similar to racing fuel and these old engines love it!!!   No ethanol.

I've used similar in the past. Tough to get here and VERY expensive in comparison to "Recreation fuel"  90+ octane non ethanol.

You can smell him coming before you see him!  That’s a good thing when we’re talking tractor exhaust, not @squonk exhaust…

He works at a airport Ken ... me thinks it's a fringe benefit. :)

It's dyed blue in color and reminds me of the two stroke canned fuel.

In addition to the smell, the other problem at @Pullstart's plow day were the contrails... (not to be confused with the @WHX?? and @Achto post-curd ingestion contrails)... couldn't see straight enough to keep a straight furrow...

If you're a real conspiracy theorist, they're chemtrails! But that's probably only true in the post-curd scenario!

This is going down the drain like usual… but I sure do see them turn into some crazy clouds in my sky!  Whatever they are, I don’t understand.

Last time I bought non ethanol fuel it was about  50 to 60 cents higher than normal high octane.

$4.50 ish maybe?

I'm sure today's elevated prices have it well over $5.

The last time I bought race fuel/air fuel was probably 7 to 9 years ago. Even back then it was nearly twice that!

I'm  kind of disappointed.  I was expecting nitromethine or hydrozene to be involved.

Washed the dirt off the plow mule and the salt off the snow machine...

@Pullstart's plow day dirt is reacting with my dirt... maybe it will grow 10 mm sockets and a Money tree...!
