Today I started getting ready for winter.

Done small mod to the 1257. First Picture, with plow behind, was when it was still in the hands of the infamous @WHX??. Next pic is after modification that I got done today. Thought it would be fun to see who could spot mod first.

I'd agree either seat, decal on side or the hydraulic lift lever shortened?

Duh, I didn't even notice the seat and decal were different in the pictures . The hydraulic lift lever was what I was getting at.

The hydraulic lift lever is what I was referring to but didn't realize there was other things different in pictures until after I posted them .

Looks like you put a worser seat on it and got rid of the "Rat Fink" lift control

You are correct on lift control, but the deflated one came with tractor which is surprisingly comfortably. I will say the "Worser seat" is in the eye of the beholder .

I've had multiple conversations with people over the years about this. Lots of folks, understandably, prefer the high back seats. Some even with the armrests. As a person of the "not small community" I don't fit in between those damn levers for the elbows.

For that matter though, I don't find myself leaning back against the upper part of any seat on any tractor. Ever.

 

I like the looks of a high back seat but very much prefer a low back seat because of the practicality.

Mine mostly all get the high back seats (a lot of which also have arm rests) mainly due to the fairly large amount of seat time mowing 2 acres of grass.

 

I can see that for plowing and grading duties a low back seat might be more practical.

I've tossed around the idea of getting a larger high back seat with armrests on it because I do get tossed around.... Physically.... when we are going in and out of the forest.

 

Just never found the right fit...

 

Having a suspension of any kind on a seat is actually detrimental.

I don't see any padding on the 2nd seat. I never understood why WH thought planking a thin seat right on the fender pan was a good idea. I at least put springs under them

My big butt would argue with you when I've been on my zero turn for a couple hours...

I added a suspension to my zero turn seat, it was a nice improvement.

 

Now if I had a standup mower I would need grease fittings installed in my aftermarket knees.

@lynnmor If this works out, I could use some grease fittings in my neck and lower back. Oh and maybe my hips and knees! I’d like to make an appointment now before all these old guys here try to jump ahead of me 🤣🤣🤣
