Put dozer blade/snowplow on Workhorse today. Did some leveling behind garage in preparation for the new shed. Then did a degrease & pressure wash of tractor. Making a "to do" list now for maintenance needs. So far its not too long. 🤞

This is the @roadapples legacy tractor that I gave to my brother in law.  The cylinder bore is glazed and worn, and the rod is seized right tight.  I picked up this rope @Pullstart 12 hp Kohler a couple months ago, and have wondered if it’ll fire.  One thing’s for sure… it needs a muffler!

 

It’s been far too long since I tinkered on a tractor.  Momma’s in the big city with her girls, I’m playing in the shop.

I got another one at the M&G…. an early 80’s C-85 which as far as major parts needs an engine and transmission. Those are parts I have already. I am missing two footrest clamps a seat and a spindle though. Once I get time I'll double check the parts pile.

The clamps are available from McMaster Carr or a good hardware store. 

Seat.. depends on what you wanna use. 

 

The spindles I likely have. Just lemme know what you need when you get to it.

@ebinmaine Thanks, I have some spindles from a newer crappy tractor  I could modify or temporary use those to move it as it’s a close fit. I still would be interested in the right spindle for the tractor though. Ok, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hussey’s has the clamps. Dad has an account with MCMaster too. The seat I’ll go see what the neighborhood small engine guy has. I’ll look it over closer and let you know.

The show seat is also more valuable and I didn't want to ruin it during the winter cold or snag it on a branch picking up leaves.

A couple few years ago I put some 6/12 AG tires on the front of my 1974 C160-8 Cinnamon Horse so I could get more front height for the Mackissic chipper shredder that's semi permanently mounted.  

Those are around 22" diameter. 

 

 

 

They've been fine but getting on n off the machine gets interesting because of the accidental "Carolina squat" it has. 

 

Recently I bought a set of OTR Lawn Trac 18 x 8.5 x 8 for a different tractor.  Didn't like the looks...

 

So I'd set them aside for an occasion of the future... which turned out to be today. 

 

I swapped the tall thin tires for the slightly taller than stock tires. 

 

 

 

 

Still have an increase in front height,  just not as big. 

The extra width seems to make a good difference. The whole machine feels more stable.  

 

The rear outer width is 40.5"  

The front is 41"

Finally got around to applying penetrol to the B100

After unloading the suv and big trailer this morning and swapping tires on Cinnamon Horse,  I finally got the chance to let that beast work a little. 

I hooked up the recently rebuilt pole trailer. 

 

Headed out to the forest. 

 

 

 

Loaded up with several hundred pounds of hardwood. 

 

 

 

Here we have a BBT in its natural environment. 

 

And here we have a momma in camouflage....

 

 

 

 

In other news....

Yesterday I picked up this pair of steel weights from @Sparky  

Today I wire brushed them and got some primer and painting done. 

Cottage white.

This is from yesterday afternoon.  

 

 

This evening Trina used the air hose to clean out the crevaasseess from these decks. 

Then I went to adjust the air pressure down and the regulator pretty much fell apart in my hand. 

C'MON MAN!!!

So I took a few minutes to temporarily rig up a replacement regulator that'll be wall mounted later.  

 

Then she sprayed waste oil 🛢  in the three decks. 

Before my father passed he made sure to give certain things to certain people. He felt like TRINA needed an oil undercoat gun. 

 

Go figure ehh?

In between the confllabbery of the above adventures I put two more coats of Cottage white on these weights.

After a busy day at work I got the K341 for the C-85 prepped to swap the correct oil pan from the spare M12 on it. My father and I are going to attempt tomorrow to get the generator extension on the crank cut off to be able to swap the drive pulley from the old K181 or the spare M12 onto the K341’s crank. 

just for reference for tomorrow how far out would the crank for a K341 extend past the block?

 

More progress tomorrow.

@MainelyWheelhorse FYI, that extension map be a tapered fit. That would mean the Kohler haft has a taper. But you can buy tapered sleeves on EBay it the Jungle toget you to the length and diameter you need.

All six of my Wheel Horse RJs out for some fresh air today!  1958 and 1959s.  Wheel Horse made about 24,000 in those two years and  $2.5 million in profit- enough to buy and build a modern factory on  south side of South Bend, Indiana on Ireland Road!
