I've mowed with the refurbished deck a couple times now so I pulled it off and gave the bottom a good drill driven wire brushin'. Then I soaked it good with chain and cable lube and sun bath per @peter lena recommendation.

Fired up the old girl and did a little yard work, now that most of the snow has finally gone. She's well used but still runs and works great.

@GAJoe  that lubrication and sun  / heat  breaking grunge time , really helps out a deck , been doing that for years , as well as before winter storage . anything I  suggest , have been doing for years , pete

I was driving the B111, it didnt whant to go as it should this morning...

Someone put it in low gear and i didnt think of that until we where going home again 😄

So this is what I started with . A Toro 314 8 and a very nice tractor.  It had some issues when I bought it last fall of glitchy starting as I needed to turn the headlights off and on and maybe punch the test lights switch..

  I added a power switch to the solenoid to the start circuit and she started and mowed great. Until now.

  You can see where the red wires melted through the plug connector. The reason why is horrible pitted corrosion on the pin on the rear of the switch that connects to them.  I am pretty sure that the MN sin red wire plus a secondary feed that goes to the Christmas tree indicator were once connected there, but now are just threads. I need a new switch and also one or more Female ends for the red wires at least. I am gonna cut the plastic from around the metal connector s to save as much as possible. I hope that I can order exactly what I need to repair the machine.

    Toro wants 35 dollars for the five pin switch, but an Indak is a fraction of that. I may be able to put a new female connector and some shrink tube on those red wires .

Yes they are Toro part numbers but a 4L63 is the belt type & length, ( 63 inches ). Any hardware store should have it.

Cleaned the 42 inch recycler mower deck, put new blades on and greased all the spindles.   Mowed great after the maintenance work was done.

Here’s what I did for Rylee’s Commando 800 “Screamin’ Jimmy” in 2018.  I cut the back foot rest bar off a C series frame, adapted it to the Commando frame, and notched a foot rest to fit another pedal.  If she ever chooses to put it back to stock, we can remove the pedal and foot rest, and cover the second bar with another foot rest.  I told her that some day when she teaches her kids to drive it, she can put the second pedal kit back on.

 

I often joke that I was born with my butt pretty close to the ground.  I am 5’6” on an average day,  if I’m standing proud, I might squeak by at 5’7”.  I can drive it comfortably with the second pedal just fine.

I fluid filled a tire with no tube in it.  I ended with bead sealer on both edges of the rim and also on the new valve stem.

Yes, and the bottom one has bead sealer from the get go.  The top gets dried off, then bead sealer to finish.  Bead sealer also on the new valve stem.

It’s from the local parts store.  Like anti-seize, it seems to travel a while

Same stuff I used on Sylvia's A60.

Comes off a little easier than anti seize on a plow handle tho...
