The 3 speed in the 753 sheet metal donor of “Frank” is locked up too, but the input shaft also has enormous slop... so it’ll likely become a parts donor. I’m glad I don’t need it for anything right now... @Professor1990 the shop is lookin’ good!
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #128 Posted November 18, 2018 Didn't want everyone to get jealous of my nice clean workbench, so I had to mess it up ...this set up is just temporary until I can find a good deal on the right toolbox for my needs, but it sure is a lot nicer than having to dump out a whole rubbermaid tote every time I needed a wrench 8
PeacemakerJack 10,650 #129 Posted November 18, 2018 you are having too much fun organizing your space!!! I get it—I’ve been enjoying the same thing in my shop as well. It is so fun to watch your progress. Keep at it

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #131 Posted January 12, 2019 Saturdays are always laundry day...good part of that is it gives me a couple hours to hang out at the shop while my clothes are washing/drying up at the laundromat. Did some decorating today, one of the nice things about last years calandars is they give a guy plenty of good pictures to hang on his wall. Also hung up my new thermometer and Farmall tractor sign that came in the mail the other day. Farmalls are one of my other passions, gotta keep everything RED . Also splurged a little last weekend, went to Tractor Supply and bought a parts washer. We have one at work I have access to anytime I need it, but every time I go over there I always have 5 or 6 people see my pickup and stop with the same line...I know you're not open today but since you're here can you fix my tire? So having my own will work so much better 1 2
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #132 Posted January 21, 2019 Got tired of looking at that ugly thrown together wrench rack hanging on the wall, so I went to ACE this weekend and picked up a Craftsman toolbox. Also put up a couple shelves above the box and moved my parts cabinet from the corner by the door over to right beside the box. Really happy with the way things are coming together over there, next project probably the first of the month is going to be insulating the ceiling and finishing the last wall. I get a commission of 10% of all the mechanic work I do at work paid the first check of each month, that extra money goes to finishing my shop and tractor stuff. 3

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #134 Posted November 10, 2019 Little change of plans in the shop. My parts cabinet and the black plastic shelf have served me well for a long time, but I never liked how much floor space they took up. So today Krystopher and I decided to put up some more overhead shelving and build another shorter workbench along the west wall. Very happy with the way it turned out, and really enjoyed getting to spend some one on one time with my oldest away from Mom and baby brother

Racinbob 10,199 #136 Posted November 10, 2019 Looking good Bryce. I'm glad you resurrected this thread. I'm planning on getting one of those buildings to tweak my storage space. It won't be until spring but I already have brochures, pricing, etc. from several companies around here so I can ponder things a few months. Pricing differences are so little that it won't be a factor but materials and construction methods vary enough to give me something to chew on. Of course all the sales guys I've talked to say theirs are the best. In any case they sure do offer a pretty good bang for the buck. 1
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #137 Posted November 10, 2019 Took advantage of another beautiful day and finished cleaning up and organizing the mess we made yesterday. I like the extra room I gained by getting rid of the two plastic shelves. Hoping to have the money here in the near future to finally get my electric service permanently hooked up and a ramp built to get tractors in and out of the door a lot easier. After that I plan on finishing the last wall and then start on the ceiling 2
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #138 Posted November 17, 2019 Made another trip to the lumber yard this afternoon...and we now have a ramp. It’s not finished yet, but at least it’s usable. Sure was nice driving the 753 in the shop instead of wrestling it up into the door by hand. Also had some leftover 1x12 from the shelving we put up last weekend, so I put up another shelf for my radio to sit on so it’s off the bench and out of the way 1
PeacemakerJack 10,650 #139 Posted November 17, 2019 Really starting to look comfy in there! Nice work on the ramp...it is great to have user friendly upgrades like that! When are you planning for ceiling insulation?

Nice work on the ramp...it is great to have user friendly upgrades like that! When are you planning for ceiling insulation? Thanks. It's been something I have had on the list of things to do for some time now. The ramp was a project that my old friend Don and I were gonna tackle, we lost him to cancer back at the first of summer, and I just kind of lost my motivation to do it for a while. Finally decided I better get it done, getting the 753 in and out wasn't too big of a deal, but finding some makeshift way of getting the heavy C125 in and out was always a chore I never looked forward to. Sure missed Don being there though. As far as insulation for the ceiling. it will probably be a while before I have any more extra money to put into the shop. Only got two more payments to make on the old F150, was ready to put that extra $300 a month into the shop, but Krystal's car had other ideas. It decided to take a dump on us the other day and is gonna cost more to fix than what it's worth. So I guess as soon as the pickup is paid off we are gonna be buying another vehicle. Trying to get her to take the F150 so I can find me a nice F250 longbed big enough to haul our truck camper in and still be able to pull a trailer of Horses (thinking ahead to maybe a Big Show run ) but she seems to want no part of that idea. Pullstart 58,780 #142 Posted November 17, 2019 I lost a good friend to cancer about five years back. We were gonna go fishin’ but never had the chance before he passed. He always told me how he enjoyed a 40 oz Budweiser, so one day me and Chris went fishin’.... it was just me on the boat. I brought his beer and mine and floated a lake all day enjoying the peaceful lake. Not one bite, but we still had a good time. I miss my buddy. That ramp will remind you of Don and you’ll be able to grin about the good times with him when you visit the shop. Good healing Bryce, it really is. 2

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #144 Posted March 16, 2020 Did some more work in the shop today, had to go to Oklahoma City yesterday to work on a friends car, so I stopped at Harbor Freight and picked up a few things. I have recently began stocking my shop with bolts that I buy in bulk by the pound at our local farm store. Got tired of driving 15 miles every time I was in the middle of a project and needed a nut or bolt. For quite a while I had the whole assortment hanging on the wall above my bench in freezer bags. Picked up a couple of these wall mount parts bins yesterday, makes it so much handier when I need to grab a bolt. Also moved some shelving around as well, still trying to come up with the best layout with the limited amount of space I have to work with. 3

I've found that the best way to organize is to let your work habits do it for you. Note where you think you left something and put it there. Keep things neat like you are already and let them "move themselves" as needed. Also remember that can be a work in progress and it's ok.

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,232 #147 Posted March 22, 2020 Took advantage of not being able to go out in public and do my usual weekend socializing and finished the east wall in the shop today. Now if I could just get around to insulating and finishing the ceiling it would be all but done. 1
