jay bee 817 #6 Posted July 23, 2017 1 hour ago, Big_Red_Fred said: 1054 wont run unless its fully choked, figuring carb, More than likely dirty carb or bad float. 1 hour ago, Big_Red_Fred said: sorry if i pester you, I'm sure no one feels pestered. Questions are what this place is all about!!! And answers always seem to come to the surface from some very experienced members. Tuneup 1,416 #9 Posted July 23, 2017 MY! you are the definition of a collector. I hear there's one at the bottom level of a coal mine in WVA. Go get it! With your luck, it'll be an intact Suburban. Seriously, those hoods are my favorite and remarkable that you found one in such good shape. Speaking of dangerous pickups, we went to pick-up an old cycle a county away from me - my boy and I ride 70s Japanese fours. You had to pass the poles with the flashing yellow light that said "No police or government authorities past this marker" so I knew they were armed. They respected my 1911 (but mine's a Rock). Liked my teen's Sig even better. Just good 'ole boys that preferred cash and I had it in hand. Makes one feel at home. That carb is a Walbro - they were gummy when I worked on them as teen (had a 6 HP Tecky on my minibike). I can just imagine what they'd look like today! Well, off to church to hold up a few snakes, chant and thank the good Lord.

The paint looks like it will probably come back to life with a little rubbing/polishing compound. For the old tires, get some rubber lubricant and apply a heavy coating to them, then bag them up in plastic for a few days and the will look a lot better...... Wonder if this stiff would get rid of wrinkles for us old codgers?

The fronts can be had at tractor supply but the brand is hi-run for $20.00. The rears are hard to find unless you go with ags.

ACman 7,557 #23 Posted July 23, 2017 (edited) Hey Fred here's something you may or may not know . If you want to mention someone's name in a post and you want them to see the post use the " @ " in front of the users name . The name will turn blue an a notification will be sent to the person you've mentioned . Like this @Big_Red_Fred . Did you receive a notification ? You should have gotten three , one for a "like" another for someone " commented " and the third should be "mentioned you" on your post . Just a useful tool to use .
