entropy 104 #26 Posted December 6, 2016 I like seat #2 as well. How much does that one cost?

cleat 7,231 #28 Posted December 6, 2016 I also use seats like #2 with arm rests. These pics show 2 but I have the identical setup on all 4 of my 520's. Arm rests are nice but pricey, they cost about the same as the seat itself. Cleat
entropy 104 #29 Posted December 6, 2016 Nice looking horses Cleat! It seems quite a few people want a nice 520 and you have 4 ??!! It seems the price you quoted is a good deal, but I am a cheap SOB and $79 gets my cheap-o-meter all a flutter, I am at bottom right. But my seat is absolute garbage on the 518!! cleat 7,231 #30 Posted December 6, 2016 I paid $79.99 US for the Black Talon seats armrests on ebay no tax. The seats I got from TSC for $79.99 Canadian + tax (13%) These are not a direct bolt-on and I made up adapter plates. Here are the plans. Wheel Horse seat adapters.pdf You can just see the spacers here between the seat and spring. Even though these seats have a lot of different mounting holes, they do not have the proper ones for the 520. Cleat
ACman 7,639 #31 Posted December 6, 2016 Seat #2 isn't on sale anymore and is $99.99+ shipping . Should have just ordered it when @WVHillbilly520H showed the add that would have sucked up the shipping costs . Seat #1 is still on sale at $10 off for 97.99+shipping . Even though my butt will never set in this seat , I want the right look . @cleat impressive collection you have there , hope mine turns out as nice as yours . WVHillbilly520H 10,376 #32 Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) Cleat those seats are more of a CUB CADET Quiet Line design and a shorter back rest than the original '96 newer520/xi or Michigan V-818 seats, but as long as you're happy with them is all that matters, my '97 seat from day 1 was always slick to set in compared to the V-818 I got this summer, and the '95 520 with bagger I bought late this summer has the original seat which is slick and uncomfortable and has arm rests they look cool, but to me somewhat of a hassle every time I have to empty those bags just my ,Jeff. ACman 7,639 #33 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) And the winner is #2 but it is not a direct bolt on as stated in the first post . Neither of the Michigan seats are . Edited January 10, 2017 by ACman
c-series don 9,893 #34 Posted January 10, 2017 Ok I probably shouldn't admit this in public but that is one beautiful Cub Cadet ! Since I'm confessing I kinda secretly want one of those but do not tell anyone 😬 2
Wheelhorse4me 4 #35 Posted May 31 I'm resurrecting this old post regarding 520H seats. I went to Northern Tool and purchased the A&I brand Mid Back Utility seat - model TM555BL. It has lots of mounting points, but only 2 match up with the 520H seat rails. This time, I'll go back with the seat rails and see if I can find a direct fit. When switching to a non-OEM seat, how do you make the seat switch work?

I would like to hear what others have done. 520's have used a few different set up's on the seat switches over the years.
Lee1977 7,169 #38 Posted May 31 The bolt pattern on my 520 is 7 1/2""wide by 8" long.
Wheelhorse4me 4 #39 Posted May 31 Has anyone found an aftermarket seat that allows use of the seat switch?
Sodaking27 998 #40 Posted May 31 (edited) I used the KM 125 Uni Pro from “tractorseats.com”. Has the 7.5x8 bolt pattern needed. They also have the seat switch available. Edited May 31 by Sodaking27
Wheelhorse4me 4 #41 Posted June 1 Sodaking27, thanks for the suggestion! They have 2 seat switches. A "normally open" and a "normally closed" version. Which did you use? Not sure which is required for my 520H.

That looks like the seat that came on my 1996 Simplicity. 29 years old and no cracks.
