I know the lil A-81 isn't as collectible as the garden tractors but this one is really nice and everything works. And for what I paid I think I stole it. Has original dealer sticker on it too

My dad has the next model, a 125 - still a 12 horse just different sheet metal. Dad's is a Kohler, I think the 120 was too. Very nice machines. oopps did not think of that. Thanks for the info.
Retired Wrencher 5,672 #31 Posted March 22, 2016 Amcwheel85 Looks nice Try buffing it out with some compound then wax it and see how it looks from there. I think it will look better after this. I bought a cheap one at Harbor Freight just for tractors. Just my

WHX?? 50,929 #34 Posted March 22, 2016 Looks to be in really good shape for it's age. Nice thing about these litte guys is easy to get around trees & stuff in the yard. Bet it will cut a fine head of fescues.

It is a survivor, I've wanted one since the first time I seen one and was lucky enough to get one in great shape.

oldredrider 2,553 #39 Posted March 24, 2016 Not trying to hijack the thread, but what is an A-81 (in good condition) selling for these days?
Amcwheel85 2,059 #40 Posted March 25, 2016 Well I don't really know what they usually go for because this is the only one I have seen but I gave $80 for this one
stevasaurus 23,120 #41 Posted March 25, 2016 The way I look at it...I just saw a commercial for a brand new walk behind mower...$279. $80 for one in great shape that you can ride is a steal for sure. And the A-81 is so cute, you just want to adopt one!!

AMC RULES 37,161 #45 Posted March 25, 2016 At her first tractor show ever... the Mrs Rules bought her A-81 within 15 minutes of stepping on the big show field. Exactly what she said..."they're so cute"
squonk 42,892 #46 Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) I had an A-81. Bought it 28 yrs. ago as the first mower I had when we moved into our house. Had a replacement Briggs and all PTO parts were gone. Blades were on all the time. When you pulled the "Easy -Spin" tm everything spun around except the steering wheel. Edited March 26, 2016 by squonk
WHX?? 50,929 #47 Posted March 26, 2016 I always called them rear engine dragsters back in the day when most top feulers did have the engine in the front.....let the fescues fly!!!
