Recommended Posts

Hi I'm new to all of this. I just got a 603 Wheel Horse. I will be needing a key and a front tire to start with. It looks like it is in pretty good shape. I would also be interest in accessories for the 603 such plows, disk, mowing deck.

:WRS:                   The key should be the same as any standard lawn mower, Walmart or Tractor Supply will have them.      :text-coolphotos:

Not a techy on there either...  Very nice tractor you have there, complete with a vintage battery. Thanks for the pics!

It may have started life with a pull start Techy H60 for power, but I would leave well enough alone.  :twocents-02cents:

Very nice re-power with the K181 which is a 1974 engine according to the serial #. Miller Tire should have what you need to replace that 4.80/4.00-8 LINK

Never thought I could land a Special 603 but today I did, no engine & rough around the edges but for sure rebuildable.
So this is some of my Herd that are special
54-PT20 Walk Behind, 57-RJ35, 5-701s, 702, 1045, 34R, 78- C-161, 1st year Blackhood Fiberglass Hood, Ark 500 FEL on the only tractor I ever bought new 2004 315-8 (regrets that I traded my C141 I grew up with showing me how great WH is, wasn’t collecting than)
and have to mention best deal ever was the C85 w/snow blower I won at the Big Show in 2021 at the raffle 5$ of tickets.

I've had several Wheel Horses but this is the first electric clutch. Got it from a fellow here in IN that has many WH parts. Had to replace it this spring along with many other parts this summer. Question is: Can the clutch be wired backwards? It seems like the battery is draining much too fast and I'm wondering if it is even charging (or does it even do that)? Lots to learn!
