Hello All, I've finally raised the funds to go and get another Wheel horse, still not got what I dream about..... a lovely round hood but there like hens teeth to find over here in the UK and the last one i see went up for sale and made £1,100. Never mind... Anyway later today I'm going to look at a commando 7? I've been told its 1960's and its a 7hp... I will still give it a good look over before I buy, I'm heading off in a few hours as its quite a drive to get there.. Now for the bad part... I've been putting off clearing my shed out for a while now,.. But now I may be getting another horse.. It needs to be done there's only just going to be room for three tractors in there, tight squeeze though.

Looks like I've got another action packed day out with the horses, ;)

Don't give up on eventually finding a round hood. Every WH collector should own one. Four of my six ponies are round hoods and they are my favorites. I have a similar limit issue as you do with my six ponies sharing a shed with my early '60s vintage dirt track race car. Collecting Wheel Horses is kinda like drinking tequilla... If one is one too many, one more is never enough.

hopefully you aren't driving to the one in cumbria?  if so then yes quite a drive - or have you found one closer?

re: commando 7, I've done 3 sets in 4 months - having only ever done one in 3 years!

Charlie, I think one thing that will help you is installing some shelves. For now that should give you the extra room needed for another Wheel Horse. Good luck with your Spring cleaning :)

Hello Neil, sadly not, :( quite upsetting really, but at least the shed got a clean after all ;), but I'm not giving up I'm still looking and I will be getting another one soon, Fingers crossed. But.. Now I've been to veiw it I'm not surprised that the owner said he had no way of sending photos, as it would of turned me away, as sadly it had been not very well looked after, had a bright yellow John Deere seat covered in rips, had a modern kawasaki engine in it, so not orignial, all four tyres where odd and one of the rear and one of the front tyres had slits in them, air was coming out quicker then it went in, ahaha, and to top it all off gears 1 and reverse never worked, so unfortunately.. I had to let this one go, :) never mind... Ill get one soon enough

Charlie,

I think you should morph that chain saw with a Wheel Horse and build a hybrid brush cutting machine.

Good luck on finding your next tractor.

Wow...such a brilliant idea, the hours of fun that could be had with a hybrid bush cutter ;)

Picked up a 1972 Commando 800 w/36” rear discharge. From the grandson of the original owner. Hasn’t run in decades but have no doubt that with some cleaning up of carb, fuel system and check the head, it will run like a Horse.
Has anyone ever seen the steering cap logo like this?

Trying to design and 3D print the front emblem. Below is my model. Any body who want to try out 3D modeling and 3D printing, I’m using Onshape (this file is public so you should be able to find it) and an ender 3 v2 printer.

I just recently bought a commando 8 frame at auction along with a 1054 with a hard cab. I was wondering, what's a commando 8 frame worth? You'd be surprised what I payed for it.
